Meet the New Genius at Magruder

The GeniusTM 3D MammographyTM exam provides better, earlier breast cancer detection compared to 2D alone. It finds 20-65% more invasive breast cancers than 2D mammography alone. Genius exams have also been proven to reduce unnecessary callbacks by up to 40%.

Magruder’s current Mammography and DEXA services are closed for minor room renovations as well as installation of the new imaging systems and training for the technologists. Mammography services are scheduled to reopen January 20, 2021; DEXA services are scheduled to resume January 26, 2021. Every day, people are struggling with the current state of the world, causing emotional distress and anxiety to appear in many ways. The Sandusky Artisans Recovery Community Center is here for you and wants you to know what to look for and what’s out there to help you!

Consider the ABCs of Mental Health:

A. Ask yourself how you’re feeling

B. Be aware of the signs and symptoms of stress, anxiety, depression, and suicide.

C. Care for yourself and others.

Common Signs and Symptoms of emotional distress may include, but are not limited to:

• Excessive worrying or fear

• Feeling abnormally sad or down

• Headaches and/or stomachaches

• Difficulty concentrating and/or learning

• Confused thinking

• Overuse of substances (alcohol, drugs, food)

• Thinking about suicide

• Avoiding friends and social activities

• Prolonged irritability or anger

• Extreme mood changes

• Change in sleeping habits

Symptoms to watch for in smaller children (who may not understand their feelings yet):

• Frequent tummy aches

• New or recurring fears, such as being alone or of the dark

• Sudden clinging to parents

• Changes in behavior/mood swings/ temper tantrums

• Frequent nightmares or bedwetting
