lace 4 Grace is a Christ-centered ministry born from a simple call: walk alongside pregnant women toward safety, housing, healing, and hope. At the heart of that mission is a home on 10 quiet acres in Knox County, where mommas live together learning real-life skills alongside trauma-informed care — because, as founder Kandee Popham puts it, “unhealed trauma doesn’t just disappear — it gets passed down.” But housing is only part of how Place 4 Grace shows up. Many mommas never move into the home at all; instead, staff and volunteers walk alongside them right where they are — through mentoring, meals, encouragement, and practical support that helps a woman build a stable, healthy life for herself and her baby, residential or not.

THRIFT STORE COMING SOON! That kind of love takes a whole community showing up in practical ways — which is why Place 4 Grace is preparing to reopen its p4g THRIFT shop at 156 N Norton St., once additional funding is secured, staff are hired, and the space is set up. The ministry is seeking a Residential Program Manager and a p4g THRIFT shop manager, plus volunteers for shop shifts and mentoring, as well as women’s, maternity or baby item donations. One story captures that mission well. A young woman living in a van with her baby’s father, terrified of losing her child to the same foster system she’d grown up in, found her way to Place 4 Grace. While living in the home, staff walked with her through the truth about parenting and about adoption. She chose adoption, and her daughter is now raised by a Christian family who will teach her about Jesus’s love. Another momma told the ministry, “This actually feels strange to me — I’ve never had anyone show me this kind of love before.”
