The 18th Annual Norwalk Area Garden Tour will be Saturday, July 9, from 10am-3pm, rain or shine. Tickets will be available the day of the event at the Firelands Historical Society, 9 Case Avenue (behind the library), and at Schild’s IGA, 171 Milan Avenue, about two weeks prior to the tour. Tickets are $15 to view six local gardens.
The Secondhand Rose pop-up garden shop will be in the parking lot at the Case Avenue site. Look for a burbling fountain, decorative pots, bird houses, and similar items that have been donated, cleaned, and priced for sale. Donations of gently used garden décor are being accepted through July 8 at 14 Gerard Drive, Norwalk. Just place the donations between the garages.
The Society will also offer their popular and growing line of wooden coordinate signs. These signs show the latitude and longitude of a Firelands community with the name of the town stenciled beneath the coordinates. The signs will be available at 244 E. Main Street, one of the tour sites, and at the Case Avenue garden shop.
The garden tour is a collaboration of the Huron County Master Gardeners and Firelands Historical Society, which receives the proceeds from the event.
