L a n d A c k n o w l e d g m e n t
We acknowledge the land we are meeting on is the traditional territory of many nations including the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee, and the Wendat peoples, and is now home to many diverse First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples. We also acknowledge that Toronto is covered by Treaty 13 with the Mississaugas of the Credit.
OThe very essence of gardens is nature + people. Without people, it is just nature. And without nature gardens would cease to exist. And the same is true for our Garden. Nature is resilient and gardens support us individually as humans and collectively as community.
In 2024 we learned from our garden visitors that the number #1 reason why they visit Toronto Botanical Garden (TBG) is to be with nature, closely followed by mental wellbeing and personal health. These are not antidotes, but testaments from our community that without TBG, their personal health and social capital would decline. That is to say, the TBG is not a nice-to-have, but an essential place for our community.
We also witnessed how collectively, we can support the Garden we all love to be resilient.

Coming off of multi-year i pandemic, 2024 was a joy rebound. Together, as a co champions for natural spa urban environments and t connecting humans to nat a long way in recovering f deficit, while also building stronger. See for yourself 2024 Impact Report here.
With free admission and a accessible through active transport—Toronto Botani an essential part of our co and the City’s resilience. A not done yet. With urban increasing rapidly, a stead newcomers to Toronto, an generation being further r access to natural areas—th rising to become a Garden indispensable community place for our community a resilient.

Statement of Operations
For the Year Ending December 31, 2024 (reported in thousands of dollars)
Donation, Grants and Subsidies - In 2023, TBG experienced a significant reduction in grant funding as many programs were oversubscribed and funder priorities shifted coming out of the pandemic period If grant funding remained consistent with 2022, the overall results for 2023 would have been stronger
Deferred Capital Contributions - relate to non-operating funds received for the revitalization of the building and grounds. These contributions are amortized into revenue on the same basis as the related capital assets
