4.12-5.10

Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity. Until I come, devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to preaching and to teaching. Do not neglect your gift, which was given you through prophecy when the body of elders laid their hands on you. Be diligent in these matters; give yourself wholly to them, so that everyone may see your progress. Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers. Do not rebuke an older man harshly but exhort him as if he were your father. Treat younger men as brothers, older women as mothers, and younger women as sisters, with absolute purity.

Give proper recognition to those widows who are really in need. But if a widow has children or grandchildren, these should learn first of all to put their religion into practice by caring for their own family and so repaying their parents and grandparents, for this is pleasing to God. The widow who is really in need and left all alone puts her hope in God and continues night and day to pray and to ask God for help. But the widow who lives for pleasure is dead even while she lives. Give the people these instructions, so that no one may be open to blame. Anyone who does not provide for their relatives, and especially for their own household, has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.

No widow may be put on the list of widows unless she is over sixty, has been faithful to her husband, and is well known for her good deeds, such as bringing up children, showing hospitality, washing the feet of the Lord’s people, helping those in trouble and devoting herself to all kinds of good deeds.

3.13-21

No one has ever gone into heaven except the one who came from heaven the Son of Man. Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, So that everyone who believes may have eternallifeinhim.”

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the nameofGod’soneandonly Son.Thisistheverdict:Lighthascomeinto the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God.

COMMEMORATION OF THE TWO HUNDRED FATHERS OF THE COUNCIL OF EPHESUS

The Armenian Apostolic Church solemnly commemorates the Two Hundred Holy Fathers of the Council of Ephesus, who played a vital role in preserving the true faith of the Christian Church.

The Council of Ephesus was convened in A.D. 431 in the city of Ephesus, bringing together approximately two hundred bishops. It was called to defend the true doctrine of the Church and to reject the teachings of Nestorius, who separated Christ's divine and human natures.

The Holy Fathers proclaimed that our Lord Jesus Christ is one Person, perfect God and perfect Man. Therefore, the Virgin Mary is rightly honored as the Theotokos (Mother of God), because she gave birth to the incarnate Word of God.

This feast reminds us that the Church is founded upon Holy Scripture, the Apostolic Tradition, and the decisions of the Ecumenical Councils. The lives and witness of the Holy Fathers call us to remain faithful to the Orthodox faith, to guard ourselves against false teachings, and to live according to the truth of Christ.

On this day, the faithful offer thanks to God during the Divine Liturgy for the Holy Fathers who safeguarded the true faith of the Church, praying that through their example they may remain steadfast in the Christian faith and in the life of the Church.

The Commemoration of the Two Hundred Fathers of the Council of Ephesus is not merely a remembrance of a historical event, but also a call to love the truth, to uphold the Orthodox faith, and to live in the unity that Christ established in His Holy Church.

THE PREPARATION OF THE MASS AT HOLY TRINITY ARMENIAN APOSTOLIC CHURCH

On Thursday, July 30, 2026, the weekly Morning Service was held at Holy Trinity Armenian Apostolic Church under the leadership of the Rev. Archpriest Fr. Zareh Zargarian, Vicar of the Armenian Diocese of Canada and Parish Priest of our church, with the participation of young adults and youth who had come to observe and assist the committee responsible for the preparation of the Mass.

In his remarks, Fr. Zareh reflected on the spiritual and ecclesiastical significance of the preparation of the Mass, emphasizing that preserving this sacred tradition and passing it on from generation to generation plays a vital role in safeguarding our Christian identity.

On behalf of Holy Trinity Armenian Apostolic Church and the Barev Centre, Fr. Zareh then warmly welcomed and expressed his sincere gratitude to Mr. Michael Coteau, Member of Parliament for the Scarborough riding, who visited our church to learn about the federal government's support for intergenerational programs bringing seniors and youth together, as well as the implementation of the grants awarded to the Barev Centre for summer employment opportunities for young people.

The gathering took place in a warm and friendly atmosphere, bringing together representatives of different generations who learned, worked, and shared in the experience together. Through their participation, they contributed to the preservation and continuation of our cherished ecclesiastical traditions.
