Psalm 150
פּסוּ קי ﬢזִמר א
The book of Psalms is a collection of 150 songs of Praise of God. The last Psalm, number 150, is also a very important part of P’sukei d’Zimra. There are six Psalms that form the core of this part of the service and they end with Psalm 150. This Psalm ends, "Let every living thing praise the Eternal." A midrash teaches that when he first saw all of the wonder of creation he said the last line in this Psalm. Tradition remembers that King David wrote all of the psalms, so that Adam began an outline that King David filled in. The job of these Psalms is to make us as filled with wonder as Adam was in the moment of his creation. 1
