ROUND 0 | SATURDAY, 23 JANUARY 2027 Due to the GPS Sport & Activities calendar for 2027, Round 9 Volleyball fixtures will be played as Round 0 on Saturday, 23 January 2027. Participation in Round 0 will be limited to Years 7-12 A and B teams. All other teams will endeavour to make up their missed fixture during the Supplementary (BYE) Round in Week 3.
SAVE THE DATE! Our 2027 GPS Volleyball Presentation Evening will take place on Saturday, 20 March, after Round 8, in Glen McCracken Sports Centre from 6:00pm to 7:00pm.
VOLLEYBALL NOTES When Toowoomba Grammar School is listed to have a HOME fixture, Year 9 to 12 teams will play HOME matches and Year 5 to 8 teams will play away. When Toowoomba Grammar School is listed to have an AWAY fixture, Year 5 to 8 teams will play HOME matches and Year 9 to 12 teams will play away. It is important to remember that by signing up to Volleyball, as with all sports and activities at TGS, it is expected that boys will be committed to each training session and fixture throughout the season. In extenuating circumstances, it is the responsibility of the player to notify coaches, or the Head of Program, if they are unavailable to play well in advance of a fixture. With training sessions, boys are also required to notify coaches or the Head of Program if they are unable to attend.
SUPPLEMENTARY ROUNDS AND GAMES While the GPS Volleyball Season is structured as per the above draw, unfortunately, not all Schools have the same number of teams. In the spirit of attempting to provide a volleyball experience for our boys every Saturday, teams who do not have a match as part of the regular draw are then placed in the “Supplementary Draw”. Being added to the Supplementary Draw may result in a TGS team playing against a different opposition to what the draw above would suggest. It may also require matches to be played at different venues. The Supplementary Draw is updated regularly, and players and parents are to carefully check the weekly draw publication to confirm the venue and game time each week.
