2025 SCHOOL SPORT TRIALS INFORMATION REPRESENTATIVE SPORT HELP FILE
All School Sport representative trial information will be placed on the TGS App as soon as it is received from the trials convenor. Information can be located in the following areas on the TGS App: Sports, The Arts & Activities - Notices - Representtative Sport OR Sports, The Arts & Activities - Notices - Sport (e.g. Tennis) - Representative Calendar STEPS FOR NOMINATIONS 1. Expressions of Interest (EOI): If the number of nominations is limited and deemed necessary by the Head of the respective sport, Expressions of Interest will be invited. The Head of Sport will review all EOIs, and internal trials will be conducted if required. All boys will be informed of their selection status for the trials. 2. TSSS Trials: The Toowoomba School Sport Trials are the initial stage in the selection process. These trials are conducted when the Darling Downs area is considered too extensive for direct entry into the DD trials. Boys who wish to be considered for Darling Downs teams must attend these trials. The Head of Sport will review nominations, and boys will be notified of their selection status. All required medical and student detail forms must be submitted to sport@twgs.qld.edu.au by the deadline posted on the TGS App. 3. DD Trials: The Darling Downs Trials represent the final stage for selection into a Darling Downs team. Boys must have been selected through the TSSS trial process (if applicable) or by submitting a nomination as outlined on the TGS App. As with the TSSS trials, all necessary medical and student detail forms must be submitted to sport@twgs.qld.edu.au by the posted deadline for consideration. Please note, not all sports will have a TSSS Trial before the DD Trial. Please refer to the Representative Sport Calendar on the following pages for a comprehensive list of 2025 School Sport Trial and Championship dates. Swimming, Cross Country and Track & Field TSSS & DD Trials Selections for swimming, cross country, and track and field trials are largely determined by School swimming carnival results. Junior School selections rely entirely on these carnival results. Students who miss the carnival due to medical reasons may be considered if they provide verified times. Senior School selections are based on boys who excelled at the house carnival and wish to advance further.
