Toorak College has a range of academic achievement, academic growth and named scholarships available for students commencing in Years 4 - 10 in 2028, as well as a select number of opportunities for VCE in 2027.

Academic Achievement Scholarships –Years 4 to 9 in 2028
• Academic Achievement Scholarships are awarded to students with outstanding academic potential.
• External students and students currently attending Toorak College are invited to apply.
• Scholarships are awarded on the basis of an independent academic test, current school reports (including recent NAPLAN) and an interview (for short-listed candidates only).
• Academic Achievement Scholarships usually entail a 30% to 50% remission of academic tuition fees until Year 12 and are subject to continuing academic achievement and contribution to the life of the School.
• Early entry for external applicants in 2027 may be possible if places are available.
Academic Growth Scholarships –Years 4 to 9 in 2028
• Academic Growth Scholarships are awarded to students who show strong academic indicators.
• External students and students currently attending Toorak College are invited to apply.
• Scholarships are awarded on the basis of an independent academic test, current school reports (including recent NAPLAN) and an interview (for short-listed candidates only).
• Academic Growth Scholarships usually entail a 25% to 30% remission of academic tuition fees until Year 12 and are subject to continuing academic growth and contribution to the life of the School.
• Early entry for external applicants in 2027 may be possible if places are available.
Thrive Scholarship Year 5 2028
• The Thrive Scholarship has been established through the generosity of the Toorak College community, made possible by the success of our 2025 Annual Giving Day.
• The newly founded Thrive scholarship is awarded to a student who shows potential in areas of their academic studies and school life.
• This scholarship will be awarded to a student, new to Toorak College, entering Year 5 in 2028.
• Scholarships are awarded on the basis of an independent academic test, current school reports (including NAPLAN) and an interview (for shortlisted candidates only).
• The Thrive scholarship entails a 50% remission of academic school fees until Year 12 and is subject to continuing academic achievement and contribution to the life of the school.
• The successful applicant must demonstrate the need for financial support and who would otherwise be unable to take advantage of the opportunities a Toorak College education provides.
• Early entry for external applicants in 2027 may be possible if places are available.
VCE Scholarships 2027
Toorak College is pleased to introduce an exclusive Academic Scholarship for current Year 10 students seeking entry into Year 11 in 2027. This scholarship offers a 50% remission of academic tuition fees for the duration of VCE and will be awarded to high-achieving applicants from outside the Toorak College community.
• This scholarship will be awarded to students with strong academic achievement which the Toorak environment could further extend.
• This scholarship will be awarded to a student, new to Toorak College, entering Year 11 in 2027.
• Scholarships are awarded on the basis of an independent academic test, current school reports (including NAPLAN) and an interview (for shortlisted candidates only).
• This scholarship entails a 50% remission of academic school fees until Year 12 and is subject to continuing academic achievement and contribution to the life of the school.
2028 Named Scholarships
The Swift Science & Technology Scholarship –Year 10 in 2028
Designed to inspire the next generation of females in STEM, Toorak College’s state-of-the-art Swift Science & Technology Centre opened in January 2020. The Swift Science & Technology Scholarship was established at the same time to help support girls with a passion for Science to pursue a STEM education and forge a successful STEM career.
• This scholarship will be awarded to a student, new to Toorak College, entering Year 10 in 2028.
• This scholarship covers 100% of academic tuition fees from Year 10 to Year 12.
• Applicants must undertake the academic test on Saturday 5 September, 2026.
• The successful applicant must demonstrate an interest in Science and Technology and be committed to studying at least two Science and/or Mathematics subjects at VCE level.
This scholarship is awarded on the basis of an independent academic test, current school reports (including recent NAPLAN) and an interview (for short-listed candidates only). Applicants for The Swift Science & Technology Scholarship will also need to supply a letter to the Principal written by the student outlining why they wish to be selected for this opportunity.
The successful applicant must demonstrate the need for financial support and who would otherwise be unable to take advantage of the opportunities a Toorak College education provides.
The Ian Barber Scholarship
The Ian Barber Scholarship was established through a generous bequest to Toorak College from the late Mr Ian James Barber, a local Mt Eliza resident, and his wife, Mary. Through this gift, Mr Barber sought to support a student in pursuing their passion and learning opportunities in the field of music. The scholarship will therefore be awarded as part of the College’s Music Scholarship application process that occurs in Term 4 of 2026.
The Christine Friday Arts & Humanities Scholarship – Year 7 2028
Introduced in 2022, the Christine Friday Arts & Humanities Scholarship aims to enable students with an interest in, and proficiency for, The Arts and Humanities to grow and thrive. This scholarship is proudly enabled by Mrs Christine Friday (TC ‘64).
• This scholarship will be awarded to a student, new to Toorak College, entering Year 7 in 2028.
• This scholarship covers 100% of tuition fees from Year 7 to Year 12.
• Applicants must undertake the academic test on Saturday 5 September 2026.
• The successful applicant must demonstrate in an interview with the Principal the following qualities:
~ An interest in studying The Arts (such as Music) and/or Humanities (such as History)
~ The embodiment of the spirit of the School.
This scholarship will follow the Academic Achievement and Academic Growth Scholarship process and will be awarded on the basis of an independent academic test, current school reports (including recent NAPLAN) and an interview (for short-listed candidates only). Parents should indicate interest to apply for this Scholarship as part of the registration process and include a supporting letter as part of the application to be considered.
The Kathleen Rumph Scholarship
Established through the generous gift of a Collegian in honour of Mrs Kathleen Rumph, a former teacher at Toorak College, this scholarship recognises her lasting impact on students and her contribution to the life of the School.
• This scholarship will be awarded to a student, new to Toorak College, entering Year 7 in 2028.
• The Kathleen Rumph Scholarship entails a 30% remission of academic school fees until Year 12 and is subject to continuing academic performance and contribution to the life of the School.
• Scholarships are awarded on the basis of an independent academic test, current school reports (including recent NAPLAN) and an interview (for short-listed candidates only).

SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION EVENING
Thursday, 3 September, 2026
This important briefing will be held online at 6:00pm and will cover a range of essential information, including how to best prepare for the test, what to expect on scholarship testing day, how we analyse results, our process and why families choose to send their daughter to Toorak College.
A zoom link will be sent to families who are registered closer to the date. Please note that this is a live session and is not recorded.
SCHOLARSHIP TESTING DAY
Saturday 5 September, 2026
Testing will be conducted on campus and supervised by Edutest staff.
Registration: 8:15am at the Community & Arts Precinct, Toorak College, Old Mornington Road, Gate 2 entry.
Briefing: 8.30am at the Community & Arts Precinct.
Pick up: 12:30pm at Norman Carson Library, Toorak College, Old Mornington Road, Gate 2 entry.
Staff will accompany students to the testing rooms after the briefing. After the briefing, parents are invited to meet our Principal, Mrs Kristy Kendall, and staff. Following this, parents may like to join a guided tour of the School, or return at the completion of the testing.
APPLICATIONS
Toorak College awards scholarships on the basis of test results, current school reports (including recent NAPLAN) and interview. Scholarship testing is undertaken by Edutest, a specialist in academic testing.
Scholarship applicants will need to:
1. Register your interest at www.toorakcollege.vic.edu.au/scholarships
2. You will receive an email with a link to complete the online application form.
3. When completing the registration online, you will need to pay the application fee of $100 no later than the cut off date. Applicants must upload copies of the following documentation as part of the registration process.
• The most recent school report and NAPLAN (if applicable)
• In addition to the above, applicants for The Swift Science & Technology Scholarship and The Christine Friday Arts & Humanities Scholarship will also need to supply a letter to the Principal written by the student outlining why they wish to be selected for the opportunity.
4. Sit the scholarship test on the relevant testing day.
5. Attend an interview with the Principal (for short-listed candidates only).

OFFERS AND ACCEPTANCE
Students shortlisted for a scholarship will be advised within six weeks of the testing day and a time will be arranged for an interview with Principal, Mrs Kristy Kendall.
Please note, should your child be offered a scholarship, acceptance of the scholarship is required within five business days of the date of offer, together with payment in full of the applicable fees including Application and Endowment fees. Due to this we encourage families to tour our school prior to testing day.
CONDITIONS OF SCHOLARSHIPS
• All applicants must be Australian citizens or have permanent residency in Australia.
• The scholarship is subject to the student maintaining a good academic record, being willing to participate actively in School activities and upholding the Code of Behaviour of the School.
• Costs other than academic tuition fees are not covered by the scholarship and will be charged in accordance with the School’s Schedule of Fees.
• The conditions of scholarship require the signatures of all parties named as parents/guardians in the Enrolment Agreement. The scholarship offered is not confirmed until accepted by an authorised officer of Toorak College.
• All scholarships usually continue until Year 12 providing that performance and progress are maintained at a good academic standard.
CONFIDENTIALITY CLAUSE
• All discussions and correspondence concerning the Terms and Conditions of any scholarship which may be offered are strictly confidential.
• Subject to a breach of confidentiality obligations, Toorak College shall have the power to immediately revoke any scholarship offer, and immediately terminate any scholarship agreement.

How do I apply?
Register your interest at www.toorakcollege.vic.edu.au/scholarships and you will receive an email with a link to the online registration form.
What is covered on the test?
1. Verbal Reasoning: This test measures the ability to think and reason using words and language. The test covers vocabulary, word relationships, coding, classification & deduction.
2. Numerical Reasoning: This test measures the ability to think and reason using numbers. The test covers series, matrices, arithmetical reasoning and deduction.
3. Reading Comprehension: This test measures the capacity to read and interpret meaning from written passages, as well as correct, complete and punctuate sentences.
4. Mathematics: This test measures year-level appropriate mathematical knowledge including numbers, measurement, space & data.
Year 2 and 3 assessments include a Non-Verbal (Abstract) Reasoning test, in place of the Numerical Reasoning test.
Each section is timed to 30 minutes (20 minutes for students currently in Year 2 and 3). Students may change answers, skip a question, go back etc. Please note, applicants may score highly even if they do not finish the test.
What is the format of the test?

What does my child need on Scholarship Testing Day?
Students will need to bring, a pen and pencil, a drink bottle and a snack. Further information will be provided the week of Monday 31 August, 2026.
Will I get the results?
No, the results are owned by Edutest.
Do you offer any other scholarships such as Music, Sport or Performing Arts?
Whilst we do not offer general excellence scholarships in these areas, your child may be eligible to access fee incentives for music lessons, instrument hire, additional sporting interests or Toorak Academy of Performing Arts lessons. These scholarships do not cover academic tuition fees.
External students and students currently attending Toorak College are invited to apply. Further information on the application process and criteria for these scholarships will be provided in Semester 2, 2026.
Can I join next year?
Yes. Any scholarships awarded for 2028 can be redeemed for commencement in 2027 should a place be available.
What if we are travelling interstate or overseas on the testing date?
