Dunstable Town went to London Colney and managed their first victory for the best part of a month. Even though the home side were ahead as early as the 6th minute, the Blues were triumphant by 5-2 with Kyle Faulkner finding the net twice. Arlesey Town went to Leverstock Green with new interim manager Adam Randall at the helm and came away with an impressive 4-1 victory. A brace from Reece Crowter along with strikes from Sernad Hoxha and Noah Costin were too much for the Trees. At the top of the table, Risborough Rangers took advantage of Leighton Town being held to a stalemate at home to Broadfields United with a 2-0 victory at Baldock Town. It has to be said that the home side can count themselves somewhat unlucky not to get anything out of the match, but it does seem to be the story of the season so far for the Reds. Rangers went ahead against the run of play in the 20th minute through Kieron Schmidt when Baldock didn’t manage to clear their lines and doubled the lead midway through the second period when Marcus Wyllie flicked home a corner. A clinical performance it has to be said for Risborough – probably nowhere near their best, but doing all they needed to do. Hadley won at home to Harefield United thanks to a Jordan Edwards header in the 77th minute, while Harpenden Town also won by a solitary goal away at MK Irish. A Jake Anthony goal in the second half being enough to split the sides. Flackwell Heath continued their recent excellent run of form, winning their 5th match in a row, with a 2-0 success at home to Holmer Green. Fabian Driffil and Adam Thomas securing victory in the local derby, while Ardley United went one better at the Nolan Oils Ground winning 3-0 against struggling Tring Athletic. Goals from Jimmy Casbierd, a Liam Talboys spot kick and a goal from M-O-M Dec Benjamin secured the points for United. New Salamis heaped more misery on Crawley Green with a 5-0 drubbing at Coles Park. Derek Asamoah, Arti Krasniqi, Ryan Hervel, Jordan Sanderson and Josh Grantham with the goals.

In 2017, Dawn was diagnosed with breast cancer and successfully underwent chemotherapy. Sadly following a reoccurrence she passed away on 28th August 2019. We have two options, medically and emotionally: give up or fight like hell. Alan Lee Reporting Spartan South Midlands League Premier Division Leverstock Green 1 – Arlesey Town 4 Saturday 13th November 2021 Leverstock Green suffered their heaviest defeat of the season so far as they were comprehensively beaten by Arlesey Town in Saturday’s SSML Premier Division fixture at Pancake Lane. Arlesey had parted company with manager Chico Ramos on Thursday, but interim manager Adam Randall put himself in the frame for the job as his side put in a superb performance, doing most of the work in the first half with three unanswered goals leaving them well in control of the game. For the first time in this run of home games Leverstock played up the Pancake Lane slope in the first half, and Arlesey dominated the early stages of the game with the slope in their favour. They went close to scoring in the 3rd minute when a shot from Noah Costin beat Alfie Bonfield but was cleared off the line by Paplamin Jawara. However, in the 7th minute Reece Crowter, making his debut for Arlesey, hit a thunderous shot from outside the penalty area that gave Bonfield no chance and put the visitors into the lead. Leverstock won their first corner of the game in the 11th minute, and Dan Pett’s cross found Paul Marks at the near post, but his header went wide. On 20 minutes Bonfield pulled off a good save to keep out a shot from Archie Sayer. On 27 minutes Leverstock had a free kick in a dangerous position when Rawn Seale was brought down just outside the D, but Jawara’s effort from the free kick went just wide. Two minutes later Rio Beach went close with a shot just over the angle, and soon after Leverstock were denied again as Jawara’s header from a corner was blocked on the line by the keeper’s legs. This had been the Green side’s best spell of the game, but on 32 minutes they found themselves two goals down in unfortunate circumstances. From an Arlesey free kick near the centre circle, Bruno Brito had an effort towards goal that Bonfield should have gathered comfortably, but he couldn’t hold onto the ball and Sernad Hoxha was quick off the mark to follow in to net the rebound. It was Arlesey’s turn to be back on top now, and a Bonfield save from a Crowter shot on 34 minutes prevented a third goal. Leverstock had a chance to pull a goal back on 42 minutes when a long pass from Ryan Carruthers put Seale in behind the defence and clean through, but Seale delayed his shot a moment too long and the chance went away. Further calamity followed a minute before the break as Crowter broke clear for Arlesey. Rio Beach chased back but was unable to stop Crowter going on to take the ball round Bonfield and slot it into the empty net, putting his side into a commanding 3-0 half time lead. Leverstock had to push forward down the slope in the second half, but made little headway against a wellorganised Arlesey defence. Early changes saw Ollie Cox and Ollie Lawford come off the bench, and both had efforts at goal but were off target. In pushing forward the Green side were liable to be caught on the break, and they were punished again in the 62nd minute as Costin broke away to score a fourth goal for Arlesey. Leverstock finally got on the board in the 67th minute as Kian Wilkes got on the end of a Cox corner to head home and reduce the arrears to 1-4, but that did not prove to be the start of a comeback. Arlesey were well in control of the game and held onto their lead comfortably against a Green side that were looking a little dispirited by the end. Tring Corinthians FC History Tring Corinthians football Club was formed in 1956 by Fred Evans who worked at the local bus station and Tug Wilson, Headmaster of Osmington boarding school, at the time he was heavily involved with Chesham Utd and was the first President of the club. The reason for forming the club was to provide football for local players who could not get a game with Tring Town FC. Most of the original players came from Tring Town. The club approached the Aylesbury and District League and were accepted with the first season played in Division Two. Tring Corinthians original ground was situated in Beaconsfield Rd, Tring. The conditions were pretty basic with the changing rooms being an old railway carriage with no facilities, water was fetched from the end bungalow in Beaconsfield Rd. At first Fred Evans selected the team, but in 1958 the Corries expanded to a first and reserve teams so a selection committee was formed to pick the teams. The committee would meet on Monday evenings at the Kings Arms, players would wait in the bar to see the teams posted on the notice board. When the pub changed hands the club moved to the George Hotel in the High St. when it closed down the club moved to the Royal British Legion until it purchased its own ground. In the late sixties the club moved to Mortimer Hill School using the pitch adjacent to the allotments. Corries moved for the third in 1975 to Pound Meadow until 1984 when they moved to their current home in Icknield Way. In 1981 a tender for the purchase of the ground in Icknield Way was accepted by local estate agents Brown and Merry, this was arable farm land with a small grain store in one corner, later converted into the clubhouse. A lot of hard work and fund raising by the clubs committee and members was put into the new ground until the teams were able to play there from late summer 1984. During the late 1990’s the club suffered a number of break ins which at one point nearly forced the club to close, thanks to a few loyal members the club kept going and in 2000 expanded to four teams entering a youth league for the first time. In the summer of 2004 the club took a new direction with a different approach on the pitch and finished runners up in the Aylesbury and District League that season. In 2005 the club applied to the Spartan South Midlands League to play in Division Two and were accepted after building new changing rooms and extending the pitch. The First team finished a creditable fourth in its first season and repeated the feat a year later.

Be aware of your own personal health. If you show any of the Covid-19 symptoms you must stay at home, inform NHS Test and Trace and seek medical advice. Be responsible. This won’t always be possible in a competitive match environment (for example when tackling an opponent) and that is acceptable.
