Outreach – Working with local rough sleepers to build trust and offer access to any services needed – with a focus on bringing people into safe and stable accommodation. The Elms – A 44-bed hostel providing emergency and short-term accommodation to single, homeless adults. Crash Pad – Emergency overnight accommodation offered to people when we are unable to accommodate them immediately at The Elms. Move On – Providing support for The Elms residents into more independent living in shared accommodation. Resettlement – Supporting clients moving from The Elms or Move On into council, social housing, or private rental. Foodbank – Providing emergency food parcels and household provisions to local individuals and families. In the Community – Supporting people in the community during this cost-of-living crisis and helping reduce the need to visit our Foodbank. Social Enterprises – Developing employability skills and self-confidence in a supportive environment, while also raising income.

Scott and Ferg’s 250th Game Scott and Ferg’s 250th game in charge was last week. So we would like to thank them for what they have done for the club, and for their continuing efforts to bring the club as far as they can. Dan caught up with Scott after the game and asked him some questions about the time they have been with the club. Q - Your first competitive game in charge was a 1–0 FA Cup defeat away at Stanway Rovers back in August 2021. If you could go back to that dressing room before kick-off, what would you tell yourselves knowing what the next 249 games would bring? A - I would say to trust in the process that we believed we could create from the first training session. Accept the lows and don’t get too exuberant with the highs. Q- When you took the job, did either of you genuinely believe you’d still be here 250 competitive games later? A - I definitely didn’t expect to be anywhere near 250 games. When we first joined we invited all season before squad to pre-season. And from senior players only Dan Weeks actually stayed to give us a chance. Q - Looking back at the club you inherited compared with the Leverstock Green FC of today, what do you think has changed the most? A - ⁠Well the first thing we insisted on was that the bar stays open past 5.30 on a Saturday. We made a conscious effort to make sure

that any player we signed would buy into creating a club environment that everyone can enjoy. That’s committee members, supporters and players. Q- You’ve had some incredible days at the club. If you had to pick one single moment from the first 249 games that stands above everything else, what would it be, and why? A - ⁠That’s an easy one. The play off Final. To have 1000 supporters in Pancake lane. The work everyone had to do in a few days to play the final was amazing and probably something the club will never do again. Then for the players to play the way they did in the final was just incredible. Q - And on the flip side, what has been the toughest moment you’ve experienced as managers? A - ⁠Probably last pre season. After staying at step 4 on last game of the season we hoped that players would want to return and push on the following season. This was not how it happened. We only had a few players willing to stay. Recruiting was hard due to financial constraints. Every player we approached thinks we are step 4 and loads of money like everyone else in the division. What know realised was we got promoted on no budget and stayed up on £15 a week per player. Credit must go to the group of players that stayed because result was hard to come by but they stuck at it and trusted us as staff to get players in and turn it around. Q - Last season saw the club achieve its highest-ever league finish. What did that achievement mean to you personally? A - Finishing in the clubs highest ever position of 12th at step 4 was just unbelievable. As I said last pre season was tough and then to think we entered the bottom 4 of the league around about Xmas. To

then finish 12th. All credit players who stayed and the new recruits we managed to get in. Ferg’s little black book and Aaron’s constant messaging of players really did the trick. Q - You’ve been side-by-side for 250 games. What do you think is the biggest strength of your partnership and what does the other one do that drives you absolutely mad? A- ⁠I would say our biggest strength is that we both hate losing and are passionate about football. We don’t always see eye to eye. Neither of us are yes men. We would say our point on selection of team and tactics and then between us go with what we think is best for the team for that game. As for drive me mad it has to be Ferg on the sidelines. Doesn’t matter if he is praising a player or having a go at them. It’s always in a tone that feels it’s more having a go. There is no difference. I’m sure the players always think he is having a go. Oh also when Ferg decides to show everyone his lucky Paddy power pants. Thats a sight no one needs to see. Q - When your time at Leverstock Green eventually comes to an end, what do you hope people will say about Scott and Fergie’s time in charge? A - As for after we go you hope that supporters and club staff will see that we created that environment we promised in the interview. A club everyone can be proud of. That we also achieved promotion and cup wins during our time with memories for everyone associated with the club. The truth is what people say will not bother me at all. As it will probably mean we have been sacked so people will think that we deserved to go as results not good enough.

Visiting Club History: NEW BEGINNINGS On June 1st 2020, the club was formed when Milton Keynes Robins, Unite MK and Milton Keynes Irish Veterans joined together to operate as one club going into the 2020-21 season, Milton Keynes Irish FC - the first team playing at Step 6 in the Spartan South Midlands Division One, the newly formed reserve team playing in the UCL Reserve Division and the Veterans playing in the Veterans League Division One. FLYING START AND PROMOTION 2020-21 NEW BEGINNINGS ON JUNE 1ST 2020, THE CLUB WAS FORMED WHEN MILTON KEYNES ROBINS, UNITE MK AND MILTON KEYNES IRISH VETERANS JOINED TOGETHER TO OPERATE AS ONE CLUB GOING INTO THE 2020-21 SEASON, MILTON KEYNES IRISH FC - THE FIRST TEAM PLAYING AT STEP 6 IN THE SPARTAN SOUTH MIDLANDS DIVISION ONE, THE NEWLY FORMED RESERVE TEAM PLAYING IN THE UCL RESERVE DIVISION AND THE VETERANS PLAYING IN THE VETERANS LEAGUE DIVISION ONE. FLYING START AND PROMOTION 2020-21 OUR FIRST SEASON AS A CLUB WAS UNFORTUNATELY BROUGHT TO AN EARLY FINISH DUE TO THE EFFECTS OF COVID-19. THE 2020-21 SEASON WAS LOOKING TO BE VERY PROMISING AS WE FOUND OURSELVES SITTING SECOND IN THE TABLE AFTER 9 GAMES PLAYED WITH THE BEST PPG IN THE LEAGUE AND WENT ON AN EXCITING RUN IN THE FA VASE WHICH SAW US GET KNOCKED OUT IN THE 3RD ROUND ON PENALTIES AFTER ADVANCING THROUGH 4 ROUNDS BEATING THREE HIGHER LEAGUE OPPOSITION. THE SEASON WAS OFFICIALLY CURTAILED HOWEVER DUE TO PERFORMANCES UNDER MILTON KEYNES ROBINS, THE CLUB EARNED PROMOTION TO THE SPARTAN SOUTH MIDLANDS PREMIER DIVISION (STEP 5) BASED ON PPG OVER THE PREVIOUS 2 SEASONS. IRISH YOUTH & UHLSPORT UCL IN 2021-22 THE CLUB SAW THE BEGINNING OF MK IRISH YOUTH, OUR OWN YOUTH SETUP, BY JOINING WITH MK COLLEGE AND SCOT FC WHICH FEATURED 8 TEAMS BETWEEN UNDER 7’S TO UNDER 18’S. AFTER A STEADY FIRST SEASON AT STEP 5 AND THE CLUB EARNING A MID-TABLE PLACE, WE WERE MOVED TO THE UHLSPORT UCL PREMIER SOUTH FOR WHAT WOULD ONLY BE A SHORT STAY. THE CLUB WOULD ONLY FEATURE FOR ONE SEASON BEFORE MOVING BACK TO THE SPARTAN SOUTH MIDLANDS ALONG WITH OUR RESERVE TEAM TO PLAY IN THE PREMIER DIVISION AND DIVISION 2. BACK TO THE SPARTAN AND PROMOTION IN 2024-25 QUALIFYING ROUND IN THE FA CUP FOR THE FIRST TIME IN OUR HISTORY. ULTIMATELY, THE BOYS FELL SHORT OF THE LEAGUE LEADERS AND THEN LOST IN THE PLAYOFFS ENDING OUR HOPES OF PROMOTION FOR THE SEASON. 2024-25 SAW THE FIRST TEAM REACHING THE FIRST QUALIFYING ROUND IN THE FA CUP AGAIN NARROWLY LOSING TO A STEP 3 SIDE AND WINNING THE PREMIER DIVISION IN MARCH, IN THE LEAGUES RECORD TIME, EARNING PROMOTION TO STEP 4 AND THE PITCHING IN SOUTHERN LEAGUE DIVISION 1 CENTRAL. TALE OF TWO HALVES IN SEASON 2025-26 THE NEW SEASON DIDN’T START WELL FOR EITHER THE FIRST OR THE RESERVE TEAMS, BOTH STRUGGLING TO GET TO GRIPS WITH THEIR DIVISIONS. HOWEVER, THE FIRST TEAM PULLED OUT SOME GOOD RESULTS AND FINALLY FINISHED IN 13TH POSITION. THE RESERVES WERE VERY CLOSE TO PROMOTION BUT FELL SHORT IN THE LAST GAME OF THE SEASON LOSING OUT ON GOAL DIFFERENCE IN 6TH POSITION. THE U18 FLOODLIT TEAM DID WELL, WINNING THE COUNTY CUP AND PLAYING IN THE LEAGUE CHAMPION KNOCKOUTS AFTER FINISHING EQUAL TOP OF THEIR DIVISION. THERE WAS AN ADDITION OF AN OVER 50S AND OVER 60S WALKING TEAMS IN THE OXFORDSHIRE LEAGUE. LOOKING AHEAD TO SEASON 2026-27

IN 2026-27 THE CLUB HAS GROWN AGAIN WITH THE ADDITION OF TWO LADIES TEAMS IN THE NORTHANTS WOMENS AND GIRLS LEAGUE AND THE ADDITION OF MORE YOUTH TEAMS MAKING THE CLUB TEAMS A TOTAL OF 29. Our first season as a club was unfortunately brought to an early finish due to the effects of COVID-19. The 2020-21 season was looking to be very promising as we found ourselves sitting second in the table after 9 games played with the best PPG in the league and went on an exciting run in the FA Vase which saw us get knocked out in the 3rd round on penalties after advancing through 4 rounds beating three higher league opposition. The season was officially curtailed however due to performances under Milton Keynes Robins, the club earned promotion to the Spartan South Midlands Premier Division (Step 5) based on PPG over the previous 2 seasons. IRISH YOUTH & UHLSPORT UCL In 2021-22 the club saw the beginning of MK Irish Youth, our own Youth setup, by joining with MK College and Scot FC which featured 8 teams between Under 7’s to Under 18’s. After a steady first season at Step 5 and the club earning a mid-table place, we were moved to the Uhlsport UCL Premier South for what would only be a short stay. The club would only feature for one season before moving back to the Spartan South Midlands along with our Reserve Team to play in the Premier Division and Division 2. BACK TO THE SPARTAN AND PROMOTION IN 2024-25 Qualifying Round in the FA Cup for the first time in our history. Ultimately, the boys fell short of the league leaders and then lost in the playoffs ending our hopes of promotion for the season. 2024-25 saw the first team reaching the First Qualifying Round in the FA Cup again narrowly losing to a Step 3 side and winning the Premier Division in March, in the leagues record time, earning promotion to Step 4 and the Pitching In Southern League Division 1 Central. TALE OF TWO HALVES IN SEASON 2025-26 The new season didn’t start well for either the first or the reserve teams, both struggling to get to grips with their divisions. However, the first team pulled out some good results and finally finished in 13th position. The reserves were very close to promotion but fell short in the last game of the season losing out on goal difference in 6th position. The U18 floodlit team did well, winning the county cup and playing in the league champion knockouts after finishing equal top of their division. There was an addition of an over 50s and over 60s walking teams in the Oxfordshire league. LOOKING AHEAD TO SEASON 2026-27 In 2026-27 the club has grown again with the addition of two Ladies teams in the Northants Womens and Girls league and the addition of more youth teams making the club teams a total of 29.

Aaron Halai (Goalkeeper) Came from Leighton Town to Wolverton Town/Unite MK in 2015 and remained when the clubs merged. Nat Beecher (Defender) Has been with the club since MK Robins days in 2019. Matt Haworth (Defender) Signed preseason 2025 after being Player of the Year at MK College the previous season, also played for MK Irish U18s Floodlit team. Clinton Zawe (Defender) Signed for the club after leaving MK College in 2023. Rev Kalek (Defender) Another ex-MK College signing in 2024. Previously at Real Bedford and St Neots. Freddy Joyce (Defender) Rejoined club in October 2025 from AFC Dunstable. Played U19 league games for Oxford City and was trialist at MK Dons and Northampton Town. Ryan Hawkins (Defender) Joined club in 2026 from MK College. Jamal Sule (Defender) Jamal joined pre season from Aylesbury Vale Dymanos and Newport Pagnell Town. Was in the academy at MK Dons with a U18 scholarship. Bruno Brito (Midfielder) Veteran player Bruno has had a long career before joining the club from Arlesley Town in 2024. Captain of reserve team. Stephen Brooks (Midfielder) Been with the club since 2021. Previous clubs Newport Pagnell Town, Baldock Town and Stotfold. Oliver Coleman (Midfielder) Olly came through the youth setup from Scot FC in 2021. Callum Hirst (Midfielder) A bulldog in midfield, Callum joined the club from Newport Pagnell Town in 2023. Kyle Boyce (Midfielder) Kyle joined the club in 2025 from Leighton Town after trials at Cambridge City and MK Dons. Ben Farrell (Midfielder) Ben joined the club pre season coming from Leighton Town where he had played for 3 years, previously at AFC Dunstable. Ty Ward (Midfielder) Ty rejoined the club after a 2 year stint with Real Bedford, spending much of last season on loan with AFC Rushden & Diamonds. Previously played for Barton Rovers, St Ives and Hungerford Town.

Nathan Smith (Midfielder) Nathan joined the club in 2021 after a trial with MK Dons in his youth. Ryan Smith (Midfielder) A 2022 signing, Ryan was at Northampton Town academy before a short spell at Hitchin Town. Nat Emond (Midfielder) Ever constant in the reserves team and can provide cover on the wing. Kelvin Osei-Addo (Forward) Joined club in 2025. Once U21 player at QPR and U18 player at MK Dons. James (JJ) Meadows (Forward) Top scorer of the club 2024-2025 after joining the club from Newport Pagnell Town U18s and MK Dons academy. Harry Coleman (Forward) Harry was top scorer for the reserve team in 2024-2025 coming through from U18s. Harry Theakston (Forward) Young Harry is scoring for fun in the Reserves and was joint top scorer in the reserves division in 2025-2026 with Tom MacDonald. George Shrieves (Forward) George has been with the club since the Buckingham Town days and is always up there for top scorer. Also had a spell at Newport Pagnell Town and AFC Rushden & Diamonds. Nathan Amaning (Forward) Nathan rejoined the club in pre season after a 3 year gap, his last club was Moulton FC. Tom MacDonald (Forward) Joined pre season from MK College, joint top scorer with Harry Theakston in SSMFL Division 2 last season. Had trials with MK Dons and Northampton Town. Carter Nevin (Forward) Another reserve play making the step up, played in the successful U18 Shamrocks team 2025-26 doing the treble. Cairo Taylor (Forward) Has recently joined the club on a joint registration with AFC Rushden & Diamonds. Had one season with Rugby Town. Terry Shrieves (Manager) Played at Wolverton Town, Millwall, Kettering Town, Borehamwood, Baldock Town, Rushden & Diamonds, Buckingham Town, manager at Newport Pagnell Town, Buckingham Town. Leverstock Green got an excellent point from their Bank Holiday Monday fixture against a Potters Bar Town side aiming for an immediate return to Step 3 following relegation last season. The Leverstock side was organised and worked hard throughout the match, and had the better chances to win the game late on. Timi Bada had a couple of runs into the box early on, but the former Lincoln City academy player was blocked off before he could get a cross in. At the other end Johnny Allottey hit a shot over the in the 10th minute, while in the 22nd minute Ebenezer Kufour broke clear but hit his eventual shot across goal and wide. Carmicheal Uchenna twice went close for Leverstock, firstly in the 33rd minute when his free kick was turned away by keeper Albi Laci, and

two minutes later when he received a cross from Sankou Jabbi at the near post but shot over the bar. Leverstock were playing up the slope in the second half but showed more attacking threat than the visitors. Joe McCarthy had a chance in the 58th minute when Callum Neal’s cross was deflected into his path by a defender, but couldn’t get his shot away. Ashton Corder came off the bench midway through the half and hit a shot over the bar in the 72nd minute. Leverstock had their best chance of the game in the 80th minute as a flick from Corder set McCarthy away to deliver a cross which found Jack Allen in space inside the box, but his shot was kept out by Laci. Two minutes later Laci pulled off another great save to keep out a close-range volley from Corder. At no point did Leverstock settle for the point as they continued to attack throughout stoppage time, and Nat Connolly had two efforts on goal which were only narrowly wide of the target.

Leverstock Green’s under-18 side continued their run in the FA Youth Cup with a win on penalties against Broadfields United in Thursday night’s Preliminary Round tie. Alex Gyamfi gave Leverstock a first half lead, but the visitors equalised in the second half having been reduced to ten men. But with the score at 90 minutes 1-1, Leverstock came out on top 3-2 in the penalty shoot-out. They will now face a home tie against Rayners Lane in the First Round Qualifying on Thursday 17th September.

Leverstock Green are still looking for their first league win of the season, after a disappointing afternoon at Haringey Borough where the game was mostly lost within the opening half hour. The second half saw an improvement but the damage had been done earlier. The starting 11 showed only one change from the side that played so well against Potters Bar Town in their previous game, and there was a bright start when a shot from Timi Bada hit the bar with only a minute played. However, in the 7th minute Haringey striker Reo Griffiths was threatening on the edge of the box until being brought down by Dan Pett. A free kick just outside the box was awarded, and Haringey took full advantage as Coby Rowe struck the free kick straight into the top corner. Three minutes later the home side’s lead was doubled as a farpost corner was headed back across goal where Adrian Clifton finished easily from close range. Leverstock seemed to have settled things down after that, but in the 25th minute a simple ball over the top put Griffiths through to score a third Haringey goal. Leverstock had the ball in the net in the 31st minute as Jack Allen got on the end of a cross from Ryan Carruthers to finish, but the offside flag was raised. Seven minutes later Allen went down with an injury and had to be replaced by Enoch Folorunsho. Leverstock had to make a strong start to the second half, and they went close to pulling a goal back in the opening minute but

Joe McCarthy’s shot went across goal and wide. There was another chance in the 51st minute when Kombe Kawimbe’s cross found George Mitchell-Gears, but his shot was kept out by a great save from the home keeper. Haringey showed little desire to increase their lead, and after four further substitutions they finally pulled a goal back in the 71st minute. Folorunsho was presented with the ball by a Haringey defender, and made no mistake with the finish despite some defenders on the goal line. There was another chance in the 82nd minute when Carmicheal Uchenna played a one-two with Folorunsho, but hit his shot over the bar, and Leverstock never looked like pulling back the deficit after that. The Under-18s got their league season off to a flying start with a 6-0 win over Dunstable FC in Thursday night’s SCFYL Corinthian Division game. Lucas Hammer opened the scoring in the 16th minute, and Samuel Brewster added the second and third in the 28th and 32nd minutes. Alex Gyamfi made it 4-0 just before the break, and Brewster completed his hattrick early in the second half. Ashton Corder came off the bench to add the sixth in the 72nd minute.

Leverstock Green continue to look for their first league win of the season, but they put in a very good performance against one of the promotion favourites and were leading at half time before Waltham Abbey came back to win the game late on. The Leverstock side was boosted by the welcome return of Iker Noguera Leon, the club’s second highest scorer last season. Carmicheal Uchenna had a promising run at goal in the 6th minute, but his run was ended by a foul challenge by Aiden Read that earned the home player a yellow card. Read had Waltham Abbey’s first serious effort at goal with a shot from the edge of the box that went just over the bar in the 18th minute. The play then switched to the other end where Uchenna had another run at goal but shot over the bar. Ryan North was brought into action for the first time in the 26th minute, saving a shot from Benjamin Baker at his near post. In the 38th minute Callum Neal chased down a ball that looked like it was going out for a free kick, keeping it in play before getting past a defender and heading into the box, where that same defender pulled him down. The referee pointed to the penalty spot, and Jack Allen netted the spot kick to put Leverstock into a 1-0 lead.

The second half saw the home side on top with long spells of pressure on the Leverstock goal. In the 53rd minute North pulled off a great save from a close range shot, and seconds later Callum Taylor hit a deflected shot from the edge of the box which went wide. From the resulting corner Waltham Abbey had the ball in the net but it was disallowed for a foul on North. The home side were given a chance to level the scores in the 60th minute when Steve Cawley was adjudged to have been pushed over in the box. Prince William took the resulting penalty and levelled the scores at 1-1. A similar push on Allen inside the Waltham Abbey box later went unpunished as Leverstock fought back. They looked to have steadied the ship and were holding their own until the 80th minute. Leverstock were temporarily down to 10 men as Uchenna was waiting for the mandatory minute to elapse after receiving treatment, and the home side took advantage as Taylor netted the ball at the far post from a corner. Or the gaffer who has emerged from recent cancer treatment aiming to reach the first round proper with his third Step 3 team? How about the north-east town with a double second round qualifying date? Every season the early rounds of this fine competition throw up great storylines. Frankly there are too many to cover in The NLP each week and we could have done more.

But it was nice to shine a light on Lower Breck, Rushall Olympic and both Redcar Athletic and Redcar Town ahead of some huge ties this weekend. Andy Simpson spoke to Breck boss Gary Moore for us ahead of the NPL West outfit’s clash with Chester. A sell-out crowd is expected to squeeze into their ground that’s a short walk from the home of Premier League titans Liverpool. Moore said: “We’ve hosted Macc here, Bury too. We’ll be ready. With Town taking on Darlington at lunchtime for the BBC cameras, the afternoon will see Athletic host last year’s giantkillers Macclesfield. Town were competing in the North Riding Senior League as recently as 2022, so to be going head-to-head with a former EFL that are managed by a former Premier League star Steve Watson is a truly historic moment.

“This is only our fifth season in the Northern League and now we are in the second qualifying round of the FA Cup and facing Darlington,” explained joint-manager Mitchell Morris to Mark Carruthers. “We didn’t really expect to beat Bridlington or Blyth Spartans and now we want to try and knock Darlington out if we can. “Steve Watson had an unbelievable career with the likes of Newcastle and Everton and it’s just surreal that we will be going up against their side. It will be a tough day for us but one we will enjoy.” As for Athletic boss Carl Jarrett, whose side were promoted to NPL Premier in style last season, said: “They are second in their division, favourites to go up, they beat Palace last year, a massive club, before getting knocked out by Brentford. “To get them is a massive draw for the club, we are hoping we get a big crowd and I am sure the fans are on cloud nine at the moment.”
