Thanksgiving Turkey Cheese Board INGREDIENTS • 1 red pear, sliced lengthwise
• Assorted meats such as salami, prosciutto, and pepperoni
• 2 whole cloves • Assorted nuts, such as almonds and pistachios • 2 carrot sticks, for the turkey legs • 3-4 cheese wedges/blocks such as Brie, parmesan, cheddar, and blue cheese
• Assorted fruits, such as pomegranate, pears, citrus, and persimmons • Assorted veggies, such as olives and pickles • Crackers, or a variety of your favorite snacks
INSTRUCTIONS 1.
To make the turkey's body. Place the pear towards the lower 1/3 of a large cheese board. Insert 2 cloves for the eyes, then slice 1 almond in half lengthwise. Use a little honey to glue the almond to the pear. Now, take the carrots and stick 2 toothpicks into each end, then stick the other end of the toothpicks into the bottom of the pear to create the legs.

Next, add the "feathers" using rolled pieces of assorted meats. I use a mix of prosciutto, pepperoni, salami, and spicy chorizo. Try to use varying colors. Arrange the meats around the pear to create the feathers.

Once the meat is arranged, begin filling in space with thin slices of cheese. I like to slice the cheese into triangles or cubes. When the cheese is on the board, fill in any remaining empty space with fruits, olives, and nuts. For this particular board, I love using pomegranates, persimmons, red grapes, green olives, and citrus.

Add the crackers on the side. Serve the cheese board at room temperature

Market Insights Spokane County experienced a slight increase in the average sale price, lowering to $431,999, marking a 0.9% increase compared to October 2024. The median sales price saw a slight decrease of 1.8%, settling at $405,000. The current inventory rose in a big way to 1,886 listings, an notable increase of 22.7% from the previous year. This represents a 3.7-month supply, an increase from October 2024, still indicating a seller's market. Residential closed sales also decreased by 8.7%, totaling 513 transactions. Additionally, the median days on the market increased to 21 days. Annual residential sales is up from year’s level, up 1.6%, totaling 5,194 sales. In similar fashion, Kootenai County showed increased price performance, with the average sale price raising to $731,643 reflecting a 4.5% increase from the previous year. The median sales price had an increase of 7.3%, reaching $579,900. Inventory in the area decreased by 6.1% to 1,277 listings. Residential closed sales saw an increase of 12.0%, with 335 transactions recorded. The average days on the market decreased to 110 days. Annual residential sales in Kootenai County are up 6.5%, totaling 2,987 transactions so far this year.
