Our mission is to help families tackle childhood cancer by providing financial, emotional and practical support. From diagnosis to recovery and beyond, we are part of the team, allowing parents to focus on their child’s well-being. Our goal is to BE THERE for parents facing the unthinkable so they can BE THERE for their families.
COACH’S CORNER
We started the year off strong with our annual Wine Tasting Gala that raised more than $340,000 to support families tackling childhood cancer. It was a terrific evening. Thank you to everyone who attended, volunteered, and contributed to making the event such a success. Your generosity and commitment to the Jay Fund continue to make a real difference for the families we serve.
For over three decades, the Jay Fund has been about teamwork. When a family is facing a pediatric cancer diagnosis, they’re in the toughest fight of their lives, and our mission is simple: make sure they never have to face it alone. Because of supporters like you, we are able to stand beside them every step of the way.
There’s also more to come this spring. In April, we’ll be making a special announcement about some new additions to the organization, so stay tuned! We’re excited to share what’s ahead.
And in May, we’ll gather once again for our Celebrity Golf Classic, where we will begin celebrating the 31st anniversary of the Jay Fund. Our namesake Jay McGillis wore #31 while playing football under me at Boston College, so this anniversary celebration is a tribute to Jay and his legacy, as well as a commitment to ongoing growth for our foundation.
The Celebrity Golf Classic is always a great couple of days with great people, all coming together to support a cause that truly matters.

A MESSAGE FROM OUR CEO
Reflecting back on 2025, I am inspired by the resilience of the families we serve and the generosity of the community that stands beside them. Thanks to the extraordinary support of our donors and corporate and community partners, the Jay Fund provided more than $5 million in assistance for the first time in our history to 826 families in Jacksonville and the New York/New Jersey area.
In the infographic below and throughout this newsletter you will see more statistics about what we accomplished together in 2025. Behind these numbers are families facing one of life’s most frightening diagnoses — a child with cancer. Treatment often brings not only emotional strain but also overwhelming financial pressure. Last year, we paid an average of 13 bills every single day, helping families cover essential needs like housing, groceries and transportation so parents could focus their energy where it matters most: caring for their child.
Equally important is the emotional support we provide. In 2025, nearly 500 families took part in events and experiences that enabled them to step away from hospital rooms and treatment schedules and create cherished memories that brightened their child’s day and reminded them they are not walking this journey alone.
As 2026 unfolds, we remain committed to walking alongside each family with care and compassion, and helping them find moments of calm, connection and hope amid the challenges of childhood cancer.

WINE TASTING GALA HITS A GRAND SLAM
The Jay Fund’s Wine Tasting Gala hit a grand slam at VyStar Ballpark, welcoming over 1,000 guests for an unforgettable evening of exceptional cuisine, fine wines and community spirit. Guests enjoyed tastings from more than 25 Northeast Florida restaurants, a curated wine experience presented by Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits and an exciting silent auction.
It was a great night for everyone and a tremendous success, raising over $340,000 to support families who have a child with cancer. Many thanks to Southern Glazer’s, our generous sponsors, dedicated volunteers and every attendee who helped make the evening so meaningful.

Impact Players are individuals, groups or organizations outside of the Jay Fund who give back by hosting fundraising campaigns to support Jay Fund families.
TEN SALON GIVES BACK
Throughout December, Ten Salon donated a portion of proceeds from Kérastase Fusio-Dose treatments, raising $6,000 to support Jay Fund families tackling childhood cancer. Special thanks to Sheila Powers Alesh and her clients for their generosity and continued support.
STEPHEN COLBERT AMERICONE DREAM FUND
The Stephen Colbert Americone Dream Fund, founded by Stephen Colbert and supported through proceeds from the Ben & Jerry’s Americone Dream ice cream flavor, donated $10,000 to the Jay Fund. Since 2020, they have provided $38,000 in support.
TONED MOVEMENT WITH AVERY MCMANUS
Through monthly donation-based mat Pilates classes, Toned Movement turned workouts into meaningful support for Jay Fund families. Avery McManus and her class participants have raised almost $3,000 — proving you can strengthen your core while strengthening our mission.
LACROIX CAMPAIGN
Inserra ShopRites donated a portion of all LaCroix sales during the month of February to the Jay Fund to provide emergency financial assistance with household bills to families who have a child with cancer.

PATIENT FAMILY SUPPORT HIGHLIGHTS
Fifty-two Jay Fund families enjoyed a fun-filled night with the Jacksonville Icemen. The kids high-fived players as they took the ice, Elamae dropped the first puck and Noah got a oncein-a-lifetime view from inside the penalty box. The evening also featured a special moment for Tom Coughlin, who was inducted into the Jacksonville Sports Hall of Fame and surprised with a lifesize bobblehead now displayed at the Community First Igloo.
Jay Fund patients and siblings stepped up to the plate for a memorable evening hosted by Park Wood Deli and Teels Baseball and Softball Clinic. The night was packed with baseball-themed fun — a home run derby, throwing and catching drills, and plenty of pizza and sweet treats — all organized and joined by MLB players Kyle Teel, KC Hunt, Anthony Stephan, Nick Becker and softball standout Leah Boggs.
Adolescent and young adult patients enjoyed a high-energy Game Show Battle Rooms night. Teens took on fast-paced challenges that sparked laughter, teamwork and connection. This group is part of the Cancer Healing Adolescents Talking (C.H.A.T.) program, a partnership between Nemours Children’s Health and the Jay Fund.
Families kicked off the day with nonstop smiles and excitement at Humdingers, thanks to Servier Pharmaceuticals. From arcade challenges to a laser maze and bowling, there was something for everyone — topped off with lunch and a sundae bar. It was a joyful chance for everyone to relax, recharge and take a welcome break from treatment.
This past holiday season, the Jay Fund helped brighten the lives of families facing childhood cancer through our annual Adopt a Family program. Families received gift cards to shop for presents and holiday meals, and enjoyed festive activities like holiday train rides, cookie making and even a shopping spree with New York Giants players. From games and treats to shared moments of laughter, the season was a chance for families create special memories and celebrate together.
