DOWNTOWN WESTFIELD VISION
SUN KING BREWERY COMING TO WESTFIELD The City of Westfield and Old Town Companies have proudly announced Sun King Brewery as the first tenant for the new Union Square development at State Road 32 and Union Street. Sun King, a prominent player in the Indiana craft beer scene since 2019, is expanding its footprint to Westfield in line with its dedication to brewing excellence and community involvement.
Over the next several years, downtown Westfield is poised for a remarkable transformation. With new residential and commercial projects on the horizon, the area will become a vibrant hub of activity, attracting residents and businesses alike. People will truly be able to live, work, and play in downtown Westfield. Enhanced infrastructure and amenities will improve quality of life, creating inviting spaces for social gatherings and family outings. These representational renderings showcase how Park Street will be preserved yet enhanced, as well as the south side of Jersey Street. Residents and visitors can expect multi-use developments on the north side of Jersey Street and south of the Midland Trace Trail, adding additional restaurants, shopping, and parking garages.
The planned Sun King facility in Westfield is set to include a sizable, welcoming taproom, food hall, and a large outdoor patio with views of Grand Junction Plaza. It is designed to attract craft beverage lovers and families alike and will offer a variety of Sun King’s award-winning beers, from staple core and seasonal selections to experimental brews and handcrafted signature cocktails. The Westfield location will feature over 400 seats, with nearly half of them on the patio overlooking the plaza, promising a vibrant social space for locals and visitors. The most unique element will be the rotation and repurpose of the historic fire station as the entryway into the brewery. Mayor Scott Willis expressed excitement about the development, anticipating that Sun King will serve as a cornerstone for Union Square and catalyze further development, enhancing the downtown area and significantly boosting the local community.
