Leadership Camp Not Long Enough!
Last Tuesday all of Year 7 & 8 went on a overnight leadership camp in Waihola. On the first day we rotated around different activities; air rifle shooting, ziplining, mountain boards, disc golf and archery tag. These were lots of new experiences for most of us. After tea we went on the 80m long water slide which was freezing but fun. We ended the night with a few rounds of spot light. Day two we went to the Taieri Historic museum in Outram. We completed a scavenger hunt through the different buildings and also looked at the Vintage Machinery. We finished this day off with lunch and a swim at the Outram River. We were very lucky to have nice weather. We all had a great time and wish it could have been for longer!
Celebrations in Assembly
The Milton Lions Club have been long supporters of our school and for many years our students have participated in the collections for the Puppy and low Vision appeals. Sadly these collections have been stopped but yesterday in assembly we were honoured to be presented with a certificate of appreciation for our support over the many years the appeal occurred. We also had a special performance in assembly. Sioeli Pulu performed a traditional Tonga tau’olunga which is a Tongan dance. The whole kura thought his performance was fabulous to watch and are very grateful for him sharing this with us.
Milton Op Shop Update
As you may have seen we are on the move. We have outgrown our current shop and are moving 100m down the road to 44 Union street (previously the Must Hang cafe). Our first day open at the new shop will be April 7th and we'd love to see you all there on opening day. We would like to thank our current landlord Steve for having us and all the support he has given us. We would also like to extend a big thank you to the community for helping get us to this position and supporting us over the years. You'll still see the same smiling team and great prices. So come on down April 7th and grab yourself a bargain.
