I am involved in TNLA for several reasons, but mainly I love the green industry and specifically all the relationships I have been blessed with and all the unique opportunities that it has placed in front of me. This organization is paramount with my personal and professional success and future. I want to give back to our industry and to lead the new and upcoming green industry professionals as they enter their careers. I really feel like professional education and education of the public about our industry is very important to our growth as an industry and to keep consumers properly informed. TNLA is the last of its kind in our industry and I believe it needs to be preserved for the next generation of landscape professionals. Thoughts on Green Industry (past, present, and/or future): I believe that our industry is shrinking, and it is up to those of us in the industry to get folks excited again about what we do. We need to get the younger generation excited about the green industry and educate them on all that we have to offer. The best part about the green industry is that while we all have jobs and specific duties for the companies that we work for, we also indirectly are improving the communities that we live in and ultimately the earth. We really need some new blood in our industry and new ideas to go along with it. We have a ton of opportunities to educate and inform people about the green industry and to attract new talent from all backgrounds into our field of work. I am proud to be a part of the green industry in Texas and hope to help lead us into the future.
