Tam Trinh Architectural Portfolio

My work explores architecture as social infrastructure, where climate, culture, and collective well-being shape spatial systems. I am interested in civic environments that foster public health, education, and community identity through material and environmental intelligence.

The Deering Passage 01

The design transforms the existing dock into a vibrant walkway that seamlessly integrates nature, history, and community. Anchored by key programmatic elements, including an administrative building, gallery, demo lab, lecture hall, and classrooms, the project fosters education and interaction. Preservation of the site’s lush tree canopy is central to the design, with punctures in walls framing views of significant flora, inviting visitors to engage with the natural environment. Shaded loggias, stone-paved courtyards, and outdoor seating create spaces for gathering and reflection, enhancing community interaction. The project culminates in a serene amphitheater overlooking the water, symbolizing the connection between built and natural environments.

Location:Bill Baggs Cape Coral State Park

Type: Art Studio Fall 25’

Biscayne Atelier is conceived as a lightweight art studio embedded within the protected landscape of Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park. The project explores the dialogue between making and nature — where the act of artistic production becomes inseparable from its coastal environment. The atelier unfolds as a sequence of compressed and expanded spaces that frame views, control light, and choreograph movement toward the water. Wood framing and corrugated roofing reference vernacular coastal structures, while flexible interior partitions and built-in furnishings support a range of artistic practices, from solitary study to collaborative workshops. The project ultimately positions the atelier as an experiential continuum — a space where landscape, structure, and creative process merge into one fluid environment.

Maison Mamba Nursery School

Maison Mamba Nursery is a kindergarten proposal in Senegal that reinterprets the traditional West African game of “Mamba” as an architectural generator. The project draws from the game’s circular movement, collective participation, and spatial rhythm to create a learning environment rooted in play, culture, and community identity. The design organizes classrooms, administrative offices, and shared dining spaces around a central courtyard — a protected communal heart that encourages interaction, storytelling, and outdoor learning. Deep overhangs, perforated facades, and locally sourced materials create a breathable envelope suited to Senegal’s hot climate.

Location: Kendall, FL

Type: Healthcare Fall 25’

Kendall Center for Medical Excellence

The Kendall Medical Outpatient Center is designed as a “Center for the pursuit of holistic well-being,” integrating advanced medical services with a deeply rooted commitment to the local community and the healthcare professionals who serve it. The site plan promotes active community use through a proposed soccer field, a public event lawn, and a running trail surrounding an existing lake. The design employs evidencebased design to mitigate common stressors like work overload and emotional fatigue. Located at the intersection of Kendall Drive and 874 State Road, the project serves as an “Urban Link” between surrounding residential housing and local amenities like the Boy’s & Girl’s Club and K-Land Park.
