AgriLife Extension to host 4th Annual Let’s Get Cookin’ Contest at Fannin County Fair

Press Release - Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service of Fannin County will be hosting the 4th Annual Let’s Get Cookin! youth cooking competition on Wednesday, October 8th. This year’s contest is sponsored by Steaks On Main; Bear Creek Market, Panter Row Eatery, and Guild Mortgage. Let’s Get Cookin’ is a

team, chopped style cooking competition, with teams made up of 3-4 youth in the same age division. Age divisions are Juniors (3-5 grade), Intermediates (6-8 grade) and Seniors (9-12 grade). Teams have 40 minutes to create a dish/recipe using a mystery ingredient and pre-approved cooking tools/supplies brought by participants. Then they will present their completed dish to a panel of judges and will be expected during their presentation, to communicate
