We, current owners of The Fannin County Leader, are very sorry for the Turner family’s loss. We are extremely grateful for the friendship we had with Tom. He managed to pass the ownership of The Leader off to us in the most unique way, using his charm and wit to influence his co-investors to see and agree with his goal. He never doubted his plan and his professional assistance has been priceless. Tom’s dedication to the cause for Fannin County to be one of not many counties still publishing a local paper was never ending. He literally stayed up very late and rose very early to work on his plan, determined to succeed. Succeed he did. It is with much gratitude for Tom’s mentoring that we continue to publish The Leader both in his honor and undoubtedly with his blessing. Tom will be missed in the days, weeks and years to come.
