Heifer Sale where 38 exhibitors sold their heifers to the highest bidder. The 38 lots averaged $2,419.50 after all the add ons were totaled. All together the sale brought in just shy of $92,000 which was $22,000 more than the previous year’s sale. This year’s top 5 buyers for the heifer sale included Hope Concrete, Blain Services, The Cade Mahan Memorial Scholarship Fund, Rafter P Ranch, and Texas Twist Ranch. After a brief intermission for a BBQ Dinner provided by Hickory BBQ, the livestock committee was able to award 14 scholarships to deserving seniors that have participated in the county fair over the years. Once scholarships were handed out auctioneer Randolph McGee began the Junior Premium Auction, which highlighted 77 lots that after add ons averaged $3,500.00 per lot with the sale totaling $269,305.71 which was over $50,000 better than the 2021 sale.
