Since our doors opened in 1971, we have hadthe honour of caringfor strays and surrendered pets until they find their “forever homes” We accept all animals brought to us, and run a 24-hour service to deal with the many cases of cruelty and neglect which are reported to us. Our animalcrematorium isa muchneeded facility in the city and directly benefits the Nelson Mandela Bay municipality in terms of reducing landfill costs. We are also of the few shelters in Gqeberha that havean on-site vet whotreats all our strays,surrenders and the petsof the neighbouring Schoenmakerskop township.Animal Welfare SocietyPort Elizabeth is a registered non-profit organisation. Itis throughthegenerosity ofpublic donations, membershipfees andsponsorship of our kennelsand catteries that westriveanddo everythinginourpower to care for and assist the animals that pass through our gates.
