HEAD OF DEPARTMENT: ENGINEERING STUDIES (NCV)

REF NO: HO/01/23

SALARY: R434 118 per annum

CENTRE: HEAD OFFICE

REQUIREMENTS:

Engineering Degree/Diploma or equivalent; Teacher’s qualification and be SACE registered; 5 years’ appropriate experience in the TVET Sector; Knowledge of the relevant legislative policies that govern the public TVET Colleges; must be computer literate; valid driver’s license; understanding of functioning of the following programmes: NC(V); Report 191; PLP, Occupational Programmes and working with external stakeholders. Be willing to travel. Managerial experience will be an added advantage.

DUTIES:

Provide curriculum support across all NCV Engineering programmes. Coordinate the design and implementation of programme content. Liaise with senior lecturers and subject coordinators regarding curriculum implementation. Monitoring and Evaluation of teaching and learning activities. Analyse performance, plan and implement intervention strategies in collaboration with senior lecturers and subject specialists. Plan, organise and train lecturing staff on curriculum alignment. Coordinate and ensure that campuses provide innovative learning programmes which are responsive to Business, Commerce, Industry and Community needs in collaboration with the College Academic Board. Assist with Work Integrated Learning and Work Based Exposure for both students and lecturing staff. Plan and implement quality management in the department or division; Contribute to the drafting of a year plan in advance featuring all operations; Promote outcomes-based education. Oversee the planning and implementation of ICASS, ISAT and external assessments. Prepare and analyse reports, interpret and make recommendations based on statistical data.

SENIOR LECTURER: SAFETY IN SOCIETY (SIS)

SALARY: R364 599 per annum

CENTRE: GRAAFF-REINET CAMPUS

REQUIREMENTS:

Relevant Degree/Diploma/or equivalent qualification aligned to Safety in Society Programme; Teacher’s qualification and be SACE registered; 3 years’ appropriate experience in the TVET Sector; Industry exposure is an added advantage; A valid driver’s licence. Working knowledge of assessment guidelines and ISAT procedures; Subject matter competence; knowledge and learning principles; Be familiar with national training strategy principles and requirements; Ability to develop training material; Ability to work under pressure; Computer literacy in MS Word, Excel and Power Point.

Engage in teaching and learning as per workload; Student assessment and Evaluation; Learning programme and delivery using various modes of teaching and learning; Supervision management and administration; monitor and control implementation of ICASS; Coordinate WBE and WIL. Interacting with external stakeholders on academic related projects.

DUTIES:

Provision of cleaning services; cleaning offices, corridors, boardrooms, restrooms, classrooms and cafeteria by; dusting and waxing office furniture; sweeping, scrubbing and waxing of floors; vacuuming and shampooing floors; cleaning walls and windows. Emptying and cleaning of dirt bins. Collecting and removing of waste papers. Freshen the office areas and clean general kitchens. Cleaning of basins, wash and keep stock of kitchen utensils. Cleaning the restrooms and empty waste bins. Maintain cleaning materials and equipment. Cleaning of machines (microwaves, vacuum cleaners) and equipment after use. Clean and maintain grounds.
