PRIMARY YEARS MIDDLE SCHOOL IG YEARS IBDP

The following are the key individuals leading the PY team in the current academic year and their respective email contacts are listed below. If you have any inquiries before the start of the term, please feel free to reach out to them via email

The student will also have a class teacher which you will be informed of at the start of the school They should be your first point of contact for any queries for the remainder of the academic year.

The Primary Years Programme (PYP) primarily adopts an inquiry-based approach, fostering students' development of conceptual understandings. As students delve into a diverse array of topics aligned with the Programme of Inquiry overview, relying solely on one textbook to support the curriculum and learning objectives is not feasible. However, to ensure parents are kept informed about the learning occurring in the classroom, they receive both a yearly curriculum overview and a weekly update These updates comprehensively outline the objectives and learning activities happening in the classroom, providing parents with valuable insights into their child's educational journey

You can find the Term Dates for the current academic year in our website. Please note that the dates are subject to changes often, so it is always important to refer to the website to be get the up-to-date information.

We make it a point in Primary Years to value a holistic approach to child development. As part of this, children are given the opportunity to take instrumental or voice lessons These instrumental lessons are paid and are different from the regular music lessons that are part of the curriculum. Students are taken out of their regular class for these lessons; however, we ensure that they do not miss the same subject every week A form will be sent at the start of the academic year for enrollment. Children are also given the chance to show what they have learned through participation in recitals, which are after school events

For any queries regarding transport and bus routes, or to book your place on the school transport, please contact Sam Tours (tisbtransport@samtoursntravels.com).

Click here to see the updated bus routes Please note that the routes are subject to change

We offer boarding to grade 5 and onward For boarding families, please read through the Boarding Handbook for more information and details about boarding.

Please ensure that you have sent all the required documentation requested in the Offer Letter including past reports, Parent Agreement Form, Student Medical History Form, Local Guardian Form (Boarding families only) and the Non-Local Guardian Form.

From the week before school reopens, you will start receiving our Friday Newsletters which are sent out to parents and students every Friday and contain important information. Please do look out for this email every week, which may be inadvertently directed to your spam or junk mail

At TISB we have four Houses - Discoverers, Explorers, Pioneers, and Voyagers and each student and staff member are associated with a House Throughout the year there are several inter-House competitions, and the House system is also associated with our Rewards & Sanctions Policy New students will be informed of which House they are to be in during the first week of school.

All parents will be sent account activation details to access to the ISAMS Parent Portal on their child’s first day at TISB The iSams parent portal is a site that allows parents to access individual student information like grades and important documents, such as school policies. We urge parents to download the iParent app at the same time, and allow Push Notifications, as you will then be notified when new information and notices are added
