Children ages 5 and under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times. Parents of children attending an event must remain on property for the duration of the event, and alert the room monitor as to where they can be located. TIMUQUANA TREEHOUSE Timuquana Treehouse is designed for children ages 3–10 years old. A ful list of policies and procedures can be found online. President’s Letter

s we squeeze in our final summer vacation plans and navigate kids’ return to school, our fall Club programs and activities kick into full swing as well. I encourage everyone to read through this latest edition of the Timuquanan and put some of our exceptional social events on your family’s calendar such as Father & Son Adventure Night, the return of Disco Skate Night and Dinner Under the Stars. Our younger members can enjoy special activities like Spooky Halloween Craft Night, Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Movie Night, plus Game Truck and Laser Tag Nights while parents enjoy a relaxing dinner in the Pow Wow Room or The Grove. One highly anticipated change this fall/winter will be expanding the hours and offerings for The Grove. Historically, The Grove has closed for the season in late October. Moving forward, The Grove will remain open on Friday nights and all day Saturday and Sunday throughout the year. Our Food & Beverage team has several great ideas to compliment yearround enjoyment of our outdoor river space including a Fish Camp menu highlighted on page 17 that is sure to bring in a crowd for weekend college and NFL football viewing. Members will also see a new personal golf cart policy that will go into effect November 1. This policy was thoroughly discussed at the House Committee and Board level, and we believe properly balances the expectations of all our members. With additional cart parking spaces being constructed in mid-September at the pool, the number of dedicated personal golf cart parking spots will increase to 17. We believe this is currently an adequate number of spots to accommodate members to park their personal carts, removing the need to park on walkways and in traditional motor vehicle spaces. Please note the registration requirements and the deadline to register your personal golf cart in the General Manager’s message on pages 6–7.

TCC HISTORY WITH DOUG MILNE

early three decades ago, when TCC was celebrating its 75th anniversary, I was tapped by the Club to help make part of the evening celebration not only uplifting, but informative by way of a video journey back in time. It was another opportunity that allowed me to mix my love for combining written words with matching video to help build upon my passion for compelling storytelling. A skill I strengthened for 15 years at the TOUR. Much like the story of the Club’s wildly popular Donald Rossdesigned golf course, Timuquana Country Club has evolved and grown, making membership a badge of honor. When offered the chance to help celebrate the Club’s history and educate newer members on it through a series of written and video pieces, I jumped (back in time) at the opportunity to begin providing these kinds of things each month. I thought a good place to start would be with the video linked below, which covers a lot of TCC ground, especially its golf course, which had recently undergone a significant facelift by golf course architect, Bobby Weed. Not only is the video narrated by Timuquana Country Club member, former PGA TOUR player and sports commentator, Steve Melnyk, but it includes reflections from the Club’s first head pro, the late Vic Foreman. The Englishman served the club for 43 years, from 1925-1968.

Please keep in mind that – with it being 30 years old – the video is rather dated. Because of that, quality has been somewhat compromised. In the next installment of the TCC history project, we’ll tee off with Melnyk for an entertaining and informative look back at his career and the membership he and his family have cherished for decades. Message from the GM PERSONAL GOLF CART PARKING POLICY Purpose To promote the safety of members, guests, and staff while maximizing available parking resources, Timuquana Country Club (“Club”) has established the following policy governing the registration, operation, and parking of member-owned personal golf carts on Club property. This policy is intended to improve safety, preserve Club property, enhance parking efficiency, and provide a consistent standard for all members and guests operating personal golf carts on campus.

Parking Requirements Members should utilize designated personal golf cart parking only. Use of regular motor vehicle spaces is prohibited.

Prohibited Parking Areas Personal golf carts shall not be parked: •

In traditional motor vehicle spaces

•

On decorative paver areas

•

Along curbs, except for the immediate loading or unloading of passengers or waiting for To Go Food Orders

•

On landscaped parking islands

•

On the pool parking lot islands

•

On the pool paver areas

•

On pickleball paver areas

•

In any location designated by signage as “No Golf Cart Parking”

Temporary curbside stopping is permitted solely for the immediate loading or unloading of passengers, including children attending camps, lessons, or other Clubsponsored activities. Visitor or guest golf carts are not permitted on Club property. Should a member wish to request access for their guest they need to do so through the Club’s General Manager or Director of Security. Golf carts shall never be parked in any manner that obstructs pedestrian walkways, fire lanes, emergency access routes, building entrances, or vehicle traffic.

Registration Requirements Effective November 1, 2026, all member-owned personal golf carts operated on Club property must be registered with Timuquana Country Club. Registering your vehicle is easy and completed on the TCC App under “My Club.”

Message from the GM

Upon registration, each golf cart will be assigned a unique registration number and issued a TCC Golf Cart Registration Decal. The decal must be permanently displayed in the Club-designated location on the golf cart at all times while on Club property. All personal golf carts must be registered and display the required decal no later than November 1, 2026. Decals may be picked up from the Concierge beginning October 13. Decals are not transferrable. If members need a new decal they may obtain one from the Club’s concierge. Any personal golf cart operated on Club property after November 1, 2026, that is not properly registered will be subject to enforcement action under this policy.

Minors Operating Personal Golf Carts Florida law requires that golf cart operators be at least fifteen (15) years of age and possess a valid learner’s permit or driver’s license when operating a golf cart. Members are responsible for ensuring that anyone operating their personal golf cart complies with all applicable Florida laws while on Club property. Members whose children or guests operate a golf cart in violation of Florida law or this policy may be subject to disciplinary action by the Board of Governors.

Enforcement Members not abiding by the Club’s Parking Requirements or who have not registered their personal cart will be subject to the following disciplinary action •

A $200 fine for each violation.

•

Suspension or revocation of personal golf cart privileges.

•

Additional disciplinary action as determined by the Board of Governors for repeated or serious violations.

Member Responsibility The registered member is responsible for ensuring their personal golf cart is operated in compliance with this policy at all times, regardless of who is operating the golf cart. Members must obtain proof of liability coverage (homeowners or auto) that specifically addresses bodily injury/property damage from cart operations. Failure of a member, guest, child, or other authorized operator to comply with this policy shall be deemed a violation by the registered member.

s we welcome the Fall season, we’re entering what many consider to be the best time of the year for tennis and pickleball. Cooler temperatures, comfortable playing conditions, and a full calendar of events create the perfect opportunity to get out on the courts and enjoy time with your friends. Whether your goal is to improve your game, compete in our many leagues or tournaments, or simply spend time with family or friends, the staff encourages you to come out to the courts and have some fun! The 2026-27 League season is gearing up this month. If you are interested in playing on one of our teams, please contact the Pro Shop and we will happily find a spot for you. The 2026 Pickleball Member Guest Tournament is coming up on September 17-19 and our Tennis Member-Guest will take place on October 21-24. Please see below for more information on the Tournaments. As always, if there is anything our racquets staff can do to enhance your experience on the courts, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us.

2026 PICKLEBALL MEMBER-GUEST TOURNAMENT TCC is excited to host our first Pickleball Member-Guest Tournament at our new Pickleball Facility. The 2026 MemberGuest will feature men’s and women’s doubles, levels 2.5, 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, and Open. The three-day event will kick off with cocktails and a Meet and Greet Thursday night, followed by an exhibition from 6:30-8 p.m. with special guests Frederico Nani, Jorge Nuñez and Adam Kework. Matches continue on Friday at noon, followed by dinner, a Disco Party, and live music from the Boogie Freaks Band. The weekend tournament will finish with Saturday’s match play beginning at 8 a.m., brunch from 10:30 a.m.-2 p.m. and live music with awards and giveaways from 11 a.m.–2 p.m. Matches will only be played on Sunday if needed. 2026 TENNIS MEMBER-GUEST TOURNAMENT Team up with the guest of your choice for the last major event of the year. The 2026 Member-Guest Championship will be October 21-24 and will feature men and women, doubles levels 2.5, 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, and 4.5+. Enjoy a Wednesday evening exhibition from 6:30-8 p.m. with John Isner, Stevie Johnson and TCC’s own pros Zach Goldberg and Matt Harper. Cocktails and a meet-and-greet will begin at 6 p.m., followed by music after the exhibition match. The fun continues on Thursday night with play beginning at 3 p.m., coupled with a cocktail social and music. Heading into the weekend, Friday play will begin at 8 a.m., followed by lunch from 11 a.m.-2 p.m., with another cocktail social and music from 6:30-9 p.m. Saturday morning will kick off at 8 a.m. and brunch will be served from 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. If the schedule dictates, we will continue play on Sunday. Beer and wine will be served throughout the event, cocktails by signature. Sponsorship opportunities are available for the Wednesday luncheon, Clinic and Pro-Am, and VIP experience with John and Stevie Wednesday night. SINGLES CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP Cost: $50 per person. Tennis balls, a player gift and awards are included. Don’t forget to register for the 2026 Singles Club Championship. Registration is open until tomorrow, August 29. The Singles Club Championship will operate on a flexible schedule throughout September, pairing you against your opponent at a time and date convenient for you. The last round will be scheduled for Wednesday, September 23. This means that all preliminary rounds must be completed before that date to allow for the final round to be played that evening. The tournament format for each division is two out of three sets with a 10-point match tiebreaker in lieu of the 3rd set. To register, contact the Tennis Center at 904.389.4332.

or the first time in five years, we head into the Fall season without the prep and limitations associated with preparing for the FURYK & FRIENDS Tournament. While this was an incredible tournament that we were honored to support over the past five years, we are looking forward to offering an outstanding lineup of events in the coming months and hope to see many of you on the course.

We conclude the month with Championship Weekend, October 23–25, when many of our Club’s most prestigious titles will be decided. Championship Weekend includes the Men’s Club Championship, Women’s Club Championship, Senior Club Championship, Super Senior Club Championship, and the Men’s Net Club Championship. We encourage all eligible members to participate and wish the best of luck to everyone competing.

We begin September with our annual Labor Day Tournament on Monday, September 7, featuring an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start. The golf course will reopen for regular member play beginning at 1:30 p.m. that afternoon. Please note the Club will be closed on Tuesday, September 8.

Looking ahead to November, we are excited to introduce a brand-new men’s event, The Bird Cage, to be held November 6–7. This unique Member-Member tournament puts a fresh twist on competition by having members register individually, with teams selected during dinner the evening before play begins. Designed to encourage camaraderie and introduce members to new playing partners, The Bird Cage promises to be a fun and memorable addition to our tournament calendar. We hope you will join us for this exciting new tradition.

On Sunday, September 27, we look forward to hosting our Couples Member-Guest Tournament. There is still room available for additional teams, and we encourage you to join us for one of our most enjoyable social golf events of the year. The entry fee is $500 per fourperson team and includes golf, prizes, on-course tee stand service during play, and dinner with drinks on the Back Terrace following the round. October begins with one of Timuquana’s premier traditions with the Men’s Member-Member Tournament, taking place October 1–3. Please note that the golf course will be closed for non-tournament play on October 1 and 2. Regular member play will resume at 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 3, following the conclusion of the event.

NEW CORRECTIVE EXERCISE PROGRAM Move better. Feel better. Stay active. The Corrective Exercise Program is for members dealing with nagging aches, tightness, mobility limitations, or movement imbalances. The program begins with a baseline movement and mobility screen to identify areas of restriction, muscular imbalance, and movement compensation. From there, members will work directly with a Fitness Professional through guided exercise sessions focused on improving mobility, stability, strength, and overall movement quality. Throughout his career, he has developed a reputation for thoughtful cocktails, strong beverage knowledge, and an approach to hospitality grounded in craft, education, and genuine connection with guests. At Timuquana, Kurt will lead the continued development of our beverage program across the Club, bringing his experience to our cocktail, wine, and spirits offerings while working closely with our culinary and service teams. Kurt shares our belief that great hospitality comes from being present, knowledgeable, and engaged, with a genuine care for both the craft and the people we serve. The oyster table will be open throughout the weekend with fresh oysters, lemon, mignonette, hot sauce and plenty of saltines. From the fryer, look for Florida fish baskets, fried shrimp, fish sandwiches and all the proper sides. Football will be on, drinks will be cold and the fryer will be hot. No reservations. eginning September 8, lifeguarding hours and hospitality services will change to our Fall hours. This means when you visit the pool, you are choosing to follow our Swim at Your Own Risk Policy. 1. Hours for Swim at Your Own Risk are Tuesday-Sunday, 6 a.m. – sunset. Management staff will advise members of when the pool is closing as the sun sets earlier during this time of year. 2. Children under the age of 12 need to be accompanied by an adult at all times. 3. Children 9 years of age and younger must be in the care and control of a parent or guardian while in the pool.

Please note, TCC towel service will also end on Monday, September 7. After this time, you will need to bring your own towels when using the swimming pool. Also, if you have any TCC towels lying around your house, we kindly ask you to bring those back.

TCC FALL KID’S DAY CAMPS October 8, 9, 16 Cost for One Day: $105 per member, $10 sibling discount | $125 per member guest Mark your calendars for our Single Day camps during the upcoming school closures. We’re here to offer childcare to make your teacher in-service days, parent-teacher conferences and fall breaks easier. Campers will enjoy arts and crafts, games, golf cart rides and sport activities. The camps will run from 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. with before and aftercare available for those who need it, for an additional cost. Lunch and snacks will be provided each day. WAR EAGLE AQUATICS CLUB TCC’s War Eagle Aquatics Club is excited to begin their fourth Fall season against the First Coast Summer Swim League teams. We want to invite any new and returning swimmers to join us this season on our highly competitive, but always fun swim team. The War Eagle Aquatics Club guarantees a professionally led, high-quality experience with proven results in a fun and competitive environment. Our Fall programming includes numerous meets, travel opportunities, potential scholarships and other rewarding programs that create an enhanced swimming experience for your child.

There is a 24-hour cancellation policy in effect for these camps. If you cancel within 24 hours of the camp, you will be charged a cancellation fee.

The War Eagle Aquatics Club Fall Season is just getting started and runs through November 25. Coach Walt and his team will lead daily practices as we prepare our swimmers for several meets in the Fall.
