SET
A STUNNING
TABLE he most important thing I have learned in my eyeopening world travels in the Japanese expression, “Dining should be a feast for the eye as well as the stomach.” Delighting your guests with a beautiful presentation before the food arrives puts everyone in a festive and receptive mood and takes some of the pressure off your culinary skills (or if you are culinary – challenged, buy good take- out and just hide the boxes). A great looking table can be set with a single plate at each place or several. Use what you have and improvise with place mats, napkins, tablecloths and runners. A different color on any of those creates a whole different look. I love to use glass plates (Annieglass in particular) because when you change the color of your linens, you change the color of the whole tablesetting. I like to have a couple of basic looks. One with linens for special occasions, one that is festive with color, and I tweak the two with seasonal flowers or centerpieces. Don’t just eat inside. There is nothing like a warm evening outdoors with candlelight to create a wonderful mood. Or at least have a glass of wine and cheese outside if the weather permits.
Inexpensive alternatives to linens are handmade papers found in art supply or stationery stores. Some have leaves or specks of gold leaf embedded in them and can be cut into placemats or pieced together for a fabulous looking runner down the center of the table. Squares of the same colored paper under the dinner plate or between the dinner and salad plate add a jolt of color and texture. Other runners can be created out of fabric remnants. Try twisting together pleated silks or velvets or velours for a dimensional effect. Then place down the center of the table in a serpentine shape and tuck votive or tea lights throughout. Small vases or shot glasses filled with a few or single flowers complete this stunning centerpiece. Use the same vases, votive holders or shot glasses for a different table look by setting a single flower at each place, either on top of the salad plate or near the top of the dinner plate. If the votive holders or vases are wide enough, float the flowers and arrange them down the center on a runner or large leaves, interspersed with tea lights or candles. Try different combinations every time you set the table. Use the first course as part of the table setting, like an artichoke or a pear at each place. You can reverse the order of the courses, and place a truffle or a tiny box of Godiva chocolates at the place setting on the salad plate as a favor. I am not a big fan of centerpieces, having witnessed too many squinty- eyed conversations over them. If you must have a big centerpiece, take it off the table once the food comes out. Simple arrangements of fruits and vegetables make wonderful centerpieces. The trick is to use a variety of shapes, colors and textures based on the number three: small, medium and large. Three keeps the eye moving. I like to use a big leaf as the base, (either a palm leaf or something that is glossy or well shaped.) A pineapple makes a great center because of its shape and texture. Pineapple is also the symbol of hospitality. On either side of it you might arrange an assortment of pears, apples, artichokes, persimmons, lemons or limes, descending order from largest close to the pineapple, to smallest at the edges. If it looks a little bare, intersperse some dried flowers, baby’s breath or clusters of grapes and nuts. You might also make this arrangement on a rectangular tray, platter or cake stand to add height. Try draping the grapes over the side. A much quicker idea: fill a low bowl with buttons, glass beads or glass half circles (available at art or fabric stores) and lit taper candles. Use the same bowl or deep tray for another night filled with two or three inches of water and floating candles, interspersed with flower tops or petals. Don’t “set” the table only for company. Experiment with some centerpieces and table settings as often as possible. Just like cooking, never try anything out on company. Be creative and work with the seasons. It is a great way to brighten your table every day.

Wedding rings have been
a symbol of love and eternity since the ancient Egyptian times. The idea of the circular ring is to show eternity, that the couples are married forever with no apparent start or end point. The circle was viewed and has evolved to become not just a physical representation of forever, but also a representation of love. The origin of wearing the wedding ring on the third finger of the left is the belief that a vein runs from this finger through the body and directly to the heart. Over the centuries, the style of wedding rings has changed considerably with the onset of new metals and gems. You can look at a bride’s wedding ring and almost always know the era in which she wed. Yellow gold is making a comeback for 2013. For years now white gold and platinum have dominated both the engagement ring and the wedding ring scenes, but already the move back to traditional yellow has been slowly gaining popularity. The precious metal is expected to gain more popularity than ever since the reign of white gold began. If you like both, you can choose a ring that will have both white and yellow gold in it.

Rose gold is also making a comeback and looks beautiful when intertwined with yellow and white gold. The two or three toned ring is a popular look this year and will be seen on many a new bride’s left hand.
This year, a lot of brides will choose an eternity ring for their engagement ring with the wedding ring to join it on their wedding day. The eternity ring is a simple thin band with a line of stones circling the ring. You can get an eternity ring with almost any stone in it, and if there is one that doesn’t have the stone you desire, you can ask the jeweler to make one! For the romantics in the world, matching his-and-hers wedding rings has become extremely popular. More men are wearing wedding rings than ever before, and matching the ring to that worn by the woman proclaims a statement of dedicated unity. With the abilities of most jewelers, almost any engagement ring can be examined and used as inspiration to create a complimentary ring for her and a matching wedding band for him. Many new brides are opting to wear a vintage wedding ring. Most jewelers offer rings
that have the vintage look. But if you are going for true vintage, try antique stores, websites, and your local estate jewelers. Vintage wedding rings are unique, and sometimes you can find out the story behind the ring which makes for interesting conversation. No longer is the clear diamond the only wedding stone. Diamonds come in so many colors now that most wedding rings available at your favorite jeweler will have clear diamonds and colored diamonds in their wedding rings. Now you can choose chocolate diamonds (nature and earth), blue diamonds (peace and serenity), pink diamonds (creativity), and many more. A wedding ring is not only a symbol of your love; it is also a fashion accessory that will be with you for a long time. Choose a ring that reflects your personality and you will be proud to wear throughout your marriage.

of a kind ideas for an
Mark knew he wanted to marry his girlfriend, Stacy, but he
didn’t know how to pop the question. The proposal had to be memorable, unique, and meaningful for just the two of them. A cozy picnic on their favorite beach, surrounded by soft sand and cresting waves sounded perfect. Mark just needed that one final detail to make saying “I do” irresistible.
U
Mark decided to ask his friend Travis, for ideas. Mark told Travis about his beach proposal. As soon as he mentioned his girlfriend’s love of wine, Travis suggested, Get a bottle of her favorite vintage and have it engraved to say ‘Stacy, Will You Marry Me?’ When she says yes, fill it with sand from the beach as a keepsake.” As details for the upcoming nuptials were set, Mark and Stacy added an engraved wine charm displaying their wedding date. And when the day finally arrived, the couple was able to use the very special bottle to adorn their head table. Want to make your wedding moments as one-of-a-kind as Mark and Stacy’s? Here are some unique wedding ideas to inspire you.

Spice up your guest book:
It’s tradition to have your guests “sign in” at your wedding. But how can you turn it into an experience? Get a big, blank-paged guest book with plenty of room inside. Engrave your names and wedding date on the cover. Then grab some props that fit your wedding’s theme and rent a photo booth. It’s time for everyone to strike a pose! Who doesn’t love playing around with different looks while a camera captures the moment? Your guests can keep a few photos for themselves, plus paste favorites into your guest book along with their personal messages. It’s much more fun than a simple signature!
Capture the look of your love with a custom logo:
Are you classic and sophisticated, modern and chic, or casual and whimsical? Whatever your style, you can design a logo that captures that unique spirit. Use it to seamlessly tie together all of the many elements of your event, from the invitations to the programs to your aisle runner and toasting flutes. Imagine your logo as your cake topper or delicately weaved into the design with fondant. You may be thinking that a wedding logo sounds amazing, but it’s probably time-consuming and expensive. No worries—you can work with experts who will help you and give you great ideas. You’ll get a customized logo that can be used in dozens of ways.
Frame your Messages:
Have one of your engagement pictures matted and framed. The picture can be 8 x 10 and the matting can be very wide so people can write one it. Place it on a table at the reception with a beautiful gold or silver ink pen and guests can come by and write a personal message on the matting.
Take your wedding gifts up a notch-personalize them: When she was younger, Kristen, a bride-to-be, loved taking walks with her father after dinner. It was their time to catch up and share stories. For her special day, she wanted to give her dad a gift to remind him of those moments. She bought a frame ready for a photo of the two of them walking down the aisle. On it she engraved, “Of all the walks we’ve taken together, this one is my favorite.” It’s a gift her dad will never forget.
The best way to share your love and gratitude is to give personal, one-of-a-kind gifts that are made just for the ones you love. Add a meaningful quote to a pocket watch for your best man or personalize a bracelet with your maid of honor’s favorite song lyrics. Flower girls will love seeing their monogram on a customized keepsake locket, and ring bearers can’t help but show off their first engraved ID bracelet. Personalizing your wedding will make for an unforgettable day for everyone involved! The possibilities are endless!

Exper Tips
for
Glowing
Skin on your
Wedding day The ideal dress,
the perfect menu, the heartfelt vows—to these add another necessity of your dream wedding: gorgeous, glowing skin. Throughout your entire wedding—from the moment you start walking down the aisle to when you exchange vows to your first dance as man and wife –the focus is on your face. Beautiful skin is essential, and with some expert tips, achieving it doesn’t have to be difficult.
“When the big day comes, you’re likely to feel a mix of emotions: excitement, anxiety, etc. Some important day-of skin care tips can help you stay calm and look your best”
1 Start three months ahead of the big day Start prepping skin at least three months in advance. That will give you enough time to ensure that your skin is clear, smooth and glowing for your special day. Finding a qualified esthetician is essential to help you choose the right treatments. Here are some general guidelines based on age: 20s: When brides are in their 20s, they most likely are facing acne and some discoloration from sun damage. Deepcleaning facials are a must to prep the skin at this age. 30s up: In your 30s and 40s, the skin needs exfoliating regularly because it only exfoliates naturally every 35 days as opposed to every 14 days in your 20s. This is the time to start using retinoids to help improve the overall texture and tone of your skin. 40s and 50s: In your 40s, your estrogen levels are tapering so your skin will be drier. You’ll have to add collagen-building peptides morning and night to your skin care regimen. In your 50s, you’ll notice loss of elasticity and you will need stronger antioxidant treatments and moisturizers. The older you get the more important it is to use a good serum under your moisturizer to help combat dry skin and loss of elasticity,” she explains.
2
Eat foods and beverages that nourish skin When it comes to healthy skin, it’s not only how you treat it externally, but internally as well. One wise word of advice is to eliminate all sugar and white flour while increasing some skin care superstar foods. Increase consumption of fresh fruits, vegetables and lean protein and add more essential oils and healthy fats, like salmon and sardines, to lubricate dermis layers. Drink more water. Water is vital for every process in the body and especially for your skin.
3 Consider supplements that benefit the skin Supplements can greatly benefit skin health from the inside out. In addition to a good multi-vitamin, consider alpha lipoic acid which assists metabolism, DMAE to improve muscle tone under skin, Co-Q10 which increases metabolic efficiency and improves heart health, and omega-3s (found in fish oil) for heart, eyes, brain, skin and overall body health.
4 Don’t forget last minute to-do’s for the big day
When the big day comes, you’re likely to feel a mix of emotions: excitement, anxiety, etc. Some important day-of skin care tips can help you stay calm and look your best: Eat some protein in the morning and take a walk to boost circulation and lymphatic drainage. For your complexion, use a sheer, satin-matte foundation, medium coverage concealer for trouble spots, a light dusting of pressed powder and a powder blush. Keep your makeup natural. Wear waterproof mascara, just in case.

Tips for Hiring a Wedding Photographer
I
n the process of planning a wedding ceremony, one of the skilled professionals that you will need in attendance is the photographer. They are able to capture the right photographic memories of the special day. Since there is likely to be a great number of wedding photographers in the local area, you really want to make certain that you are able to choose one that is skilled and reliable at providing a highquality service. Here are several helpful tips to help decide on the right one to match the requirements: Hire the services of a professional photographer, and not just a studio. In the process of searching for the photography service, you really want to make certain that you are able to meet and approve a specific wedding photographer for the big day, and not just to rely on photographs being taken by someone from a particular studio.
If you are able to establish the qualities of the photographer, there is a greater chance that you will receive a quality service, and received the rightimages of the special moments you were hoping to receive. Make contact with three or four professional photographers that are able to offer a full package service is likely to be highly desirable. If able to get multiple prices for the photography service, you will be able to compare prices and services side by side to make sure you are getting the very best for your investment. Also, you might want to ask to see a portfolio of earlier work to clearly illustrate the type of photographs that are going to be taken throughout the wedding day. “the price that you pay for the wedding photographer is likely to be a significant indication of the quality of service that is experienced. 5449 Highway 9

In the process of interviewing the photographers, it also benefits to ask a range of questions to make sure you are fully aware of the services provided. A common question that is likely to be asked relates to the turnaround time for providing the album after the wedding. Also, you want to make certain that the photographer has their own liability insurance to ensure the ideal level of protection is in place should something happen.

Bridal trends transform grandma’s china from vintage to vogue
Adding current crystal and white dinnerware transforms this 80-year old Wedgwood pattern.
N
ew brides are transforming something old into something new. That’s according to the latest bridal tabletop trends. While in recent years brides have been registering for casual dinnerware, lately industry experts are seeing brides returning to fine china. Sales indicate they’re opting for porcelain and bone china, which are more durable than stoneware because these mediums are less likely to chip. White patterns continue to be strong bridal sellers, ranging in shades from pure white to ecru, with gold trim making a resurgence among millennial brides. But in an emerging trend, observers are finding vintage is vogue.
Mixing in contemporary service and salad plates takes this heirloom pattern from vintage to vogue.
14
coastalwedding.com
“don’t be afraid to be bold and try something new.”
“Brides are embracing heirloom patterns for a number of reasons,” says Keith Winkler, of Replacements, Ltd. “First of all, there’s a strong, emotional connection to those inherited pieces because it ties them to family and tradition. At the same time, vintage is huge throughout the fashion industry, and that’s impacting dinnerware trends. Brides are hanging onto Grandma’s china, but they’re also looking to give family treasures a more contemporary spin.” John Griffith oversees the visual merchandising team at Replacements, known as the world’s largest retailer of old and new china, crystal, silver and collectibles. He often hears from brides needing help transforming family treasures. “It doesn’t matter whether inherited dinnerware is decades old, patterns are timeless through the magic of mixing and matching,” says Griffith. “I suggest using your heirloom pattern as a starting point, then mixing in various colors, shapes and even other mediums such as glass or acrylics. By creating a sort of ‘retro remix,’ you can dress up your sentimental favorite for formal entertaining, or just as easily dress down your tableware for a casual evening with friends.” For example, Griffith says mixing in square salad plates with round shaped dinnerware creates art deco flair. Mixing different colored plates or glass can open up an entire new color palette. He’s adamant; don’t be afraid to be bold and try something new. “I recently had a customer come in with an heirloom goblet she wanted to match,” he says. “We didn’t have any pieces in her pattern, so I instead zeroed in on a design element with the goblet, in this case the stem style on the glass. I added in four additional crystal patterns, all with a similar stem design. By matching that particular design element, we created a really elegant, contemporary look.” One challenge brides often encounter with heirloom pieces lies in the fact family members sometimes forget the name of the pattern. Griffith suggests taking advantage of Replacements’ free pattern identification service. Additional information is available on the company’s website,

W
hen it comes to wedding shoes, 2013 is definitely the year of innovation, originality and variety. This year, wedding fashion will be designed to complement your feet but also to enable you to dance until dawn. Don’t get me wrong, high heels are still in style in 2013, but the variety of wedding shoes is much wider, suiting a larger palette of fashion styles. Traditional Classic Ivory or White is always a favorite. If you still want the ivory or white but crave a little individuality kick it up a notch! Choose your shoe then have it customized to match your personality. Feather, vintage lace, rhinestones, choose your style and go with it! Highlight your pedicure with a peep toe or open square-toed shoe that provides your wedding attendees a little flash of color. Be creative—choose your pedicure to match your bridesmaid’s dresses or your groom’s colors. Signed Shoes are big this year. Brides are choosing their shoes and having the soles embellished in the part of the shoe that does not touch the ground. Have your bridal party and groomsmen sign your shoes with a personal message. Each girl likes to own somewhat of a surprise below their sleeve (or dress) that characterizes their daring favorite color. As you walk down the aisle your shoes will complete your look, guests will notice them because they will be your favorite color or your favorite print. Printed shoes are really popular this year for brides. You can either choose a print or have your bridal party wear the same or matching, or vice versa. Whatever you decide it will be a reflection of you are on your special day. Kitten heels are making a comeback and are a good choice as the bottom of the heel is wider than top and they are usually about two inches high. There are endless styles of shoes with kitten heels. They are both comfortable and attractive. If you really want to wear those five inch heels there are plenty of choices for brides. Glitzy and glittery are fun and fancy to show off under your bridal gown. Just remember—you will be on your feet for quite a while, so bring a pair of emergency flats just in case! When shopping for your wedding shoes, keep in mind that—like any shoe—they should be comfortable immediately. Never buy uncomfortable shoes thinking that you’ll “break them in.” And shop for your bridal shoes at the end of the day. Not only do most weddings take place later in the day, your feet swell to their largest in the evening. Buying your wedding shoes at that time of day will ensure you get the best fit.

Dos & Don’ts
While the fondue pot and ice cream maker seem like must-haves when you’re adding items to your bridal registry, it’s important to ask yourself, “Will I really use these items on a regular basis?” You may want to reconsider your selections. And, although making a wedding gift wish list can be daunting, the following tips can keep the happy couple celebrating wedded bliss for years to come. And where will you store your new items? If you’re living in an apartment or smaller condominium, you may want to rethink registering for the super-deluxe size barbecue grill. You’ll be surprised how quickly your new gifts can fill up your space. Next, think about your guest list. Make sure that you have a variety of items to choose from and at different price points—high and low—so guests can purchase items they feel reflect their own taste and that they can afford. For your out-of-town guests register for items available both at that you live in and use the most—the kitchen and bathroom. nationwide locations and/or online. Start with the rooms For hosting dinner parties, fine china should be on your list. Crisp black-and-white dinnerware patterns go well with almost anything as does plain white. You can also mix and match or register for one color and then register for the accessories (napkins, napkin rings, tablecloths, etc.) in another color. Find something that will not only match your taste plete collection of high-end cookware.
If you plan on entertaining a lot outside, visit stores that offer outdoor dinner and decor, but also be a classic design for years to come. Want to skip the china, but love to cook? Register for a comware and cookware. Many stores offer everything you need for entertaining plus cool gadgets and such for your indoor or outdoor kitchen. In addition to registering for the mainstays in the kitcen, such as sterling silver flatware and crystal stemware, don’t forget about everyday items like measuring cups and spoons, a kitchen scale, electronic timers or even a microwave oven. Love that spa feeling? Want to re-create it in your bathroom at home? Then don’t settle for an ordinary shower experience. Register for a new showerhead. Many new showerheads, offer multiple settings that suit any mood--relaxing, wide spray, invigorating, concentrated spray, and combination spray. Fixed or handheld, either will keep you and your spouse singing in the shower. Continue to create your spa-like, romantic atmosphere by registering for luxury bath towels and high-thread-count sheets. Other items to consider, both extravagant and necessary, include: a down comforter, feather bed, pillows, alarm clock with dual alarms and a closet organizer. If you are both looking for adventure instead of objects, create memories instead. Family and friends can help purchase items including airfare, honeymoon suite or candlelit dinners at your vacation destination. There are websites in which your guests can view your honeymoon plans and then choose what they would like to be their treat; maybe a train ride from Rome to Paris, or two nights in a special hotel.
The websites give all the details and all the guest has to do is choose which one they want. Still need help finding inspiration before registering? Retailers offer planning ideas and buying guides on their Web sites by category to help get you started.

The Perfect Venue
Central Coast Locations for Exchanging Vows Choosing the location for your wedding should be as effortless as a magic slipper’s perfect fit. In a sense, finding the site you love is akin to finding your soul mate. You’ll know it when you see it. On the Central Coast, brides and grooms have an abundance of choices when it comes to locations for exchanging vows and celebrating the commitment of marriage with friends and family. From fragrant redwood forests to scenic ocean bluffs, to lush gardens or rolling vineyards, the Central Coast offers extensive choices for the party of a lifetime.

efore you commit to one venue, determine the size of your guest list. This information will help you focus your search on locations big enough to accommodate your needs. Many wedding planning professionals recommend reserving your venue as far in advance as possible. June - September are the most popular wedding months and venues book quickly. If you have your heart set on one particular site, but the Saturday you want is booked, consider a Friday or Sunday ceremony. Make time to tour various sites and ask for references. What better resource than couples who have gone before you? Also, inquire about permits for ceremonies or parties on public property such as state beaches or parks. County government offices can usually provide this information.
26
You can also base your wedding venue on a theme such as a western wedding at Long Branch Saloon and Farms or a Latino wedding at a local mission, a beach wedding with petals in the sand, the central coast has it all. A formal wedding at a beautiful resort or informal such as a wedding located in a redwood grove. Put your signature on it, make it your own, and remember to have fun! A wedding on the Central Coast is an event that will be an experience to remember for the rest of your lives. For more information or ideas on Central Coast wedding locations, visit

Beach Wedding
I
f you live near the coast, having a beacwedding
can be a spectacular way to celebrate your marriage. The planning is a little easier then planning a huge spectacular wedding in another venue and you don’t have to worry about decorations as you will be surrounded by beauty! Invitations are important as they will state the theme of the wedding. People will be able to plan their attire for your wedding. Stick to the beach theme. You can buy your own, have them printed with some beach graphics, i.e., star fish, shells, you can even throw a bit of sand in there to really get the party going! Since your wedding will be on the beach, time of day will be a big consideration. The middle of the afternoon might be too much for your guests as it will be the hottest part of the day. You don’t want your guests going home sunburnt! Mid morning is nice, the weather is good and the beach will not be crowded. You can serve a wonderful wedding luncheon with lots of fresh food to reflect the nature all around. Evenings are the favorite, the weather has cooled down a bit from the afternoon, you’ve had all day to get ready, and you will have the sunset has your backdrop!
“if you are going for a beach wedding that will reflect your appreciation for nature and all that it includes,”

coastalwedding.com
What to wear for a beach wedding? If your celebration is going to be on the beach and then off to another location for the reception then a traditional wedding gown might be fitting. But if you are going for a beach wedding that will reflect your appreciation for nature and all that it includes, that means sand beneath your feet. In that case, you should shop for a more casual type of dress. Consider a loose fitting and fluid scarf dress with an empire waist dress design, and either halter, strapless or off the shoulder. It can be made of chiffon, mesh or silk, either a solid color or a subtle print of flowers or paisley. To keep with the beach theme, have your bridal party wear soft colors of blue or green. As far as shoes, little flowered sandals are a good idea; you can use foot jewelry, or, since you are on the beach, go barefoot! If you wedding and reception will be at the beach you can use tropical flowers, sea shells, starfish or natural coral design for the chairs and table decoration. You can put a little sand on the table, top it with a beautiful sea-themed candle and there is your centerpiece! There are so many ideas for table settings—if you are going formal use china, if casual, anything goes! Of course there are many more points to consider in detail for the beach wedding and you can be creative to plan your unique beach wedding celebration with some help from others. Even though most beaches are public property, it is a good idea to check your city/county ordinances before you plan your wedding. Collect your beach wedding ideas, sit down and go through them, and pick your favorites! This is your day and you can plan it to reflect your idea of a perfect wedding!

en’s Hairstyles for
2013
Peaked Cut One of the most popular cuts of the 80s was the peak cut. For a modern version, ask your barber for a short cut all around with a slightly longer front. At home, work a tiny bit of gel through your hair, concentrating on getting some lift in the front, using either your fingers or a fine-tooth comb. For a trendier look, feel free to take more of a risk by going for a much higher lift in the front. Use a comb to gather the hair on the crown and brush it upward using a touch of mousse, making sure that the very front strands stand straightest.
Deep Side Part The side part will continue to be popular this year because it flatters all face shapes, it’s quick and easy to style, and it’s got an old-school charm to it that women love. This year, however, go deeper than you did in 2012, and choose a part that begins at least at mid-eyebrow. If you’re losing your hair, avoid this look at all costs since you’d basically be sporting a combover. The most classic way to wear a deep side part is to slick it down against your head using a hairstyling product that offers high-gloss shine.
Crown Cut For men with thinning hair, the crown cut is a good option, because it makes the most of your hair by adding the appearance of more volume on top. Have your barber clip your hair short on the sides while leaving short- to medium-length layers all around the crown. A cooler take on the crown cut is in which the hair has been nearly or completely removed from the sides and back of the head.
Wavy And Top-Heavy Hairstyles with a heavy front and a natural or manmade wave will be a popular look this year. This hairstyle is very natural and reminiscent of beachy vacation hair. Grow your hair to a medium length and then have your barber cut it slightly shorter at the sides while leaving significant length in the front. Sweep your hair casually over to one side, using a bit of sculpting cream, and don’t be too obsessive about where it falls—you’re aiming for something that’s slightly undone.
Controlled Chaos Hairstyles for curly hair have been about showing your wild side in recent years, but that’s about to change. This year, curls should be kept short and controlled. Ask for a cut that’s short all over and then simply apply a dab of control cream to hair in the morning to keep everything in place throughout the day.
Tousled Long Layers In 2013, long layers means locks that are no more than a couple of inches below the earlobes; anything that touches the shoulders is a serious don’t. Also, long hair is tousled in a didn’t-try-too-hard kind of way, but it’s not unkempt. The trendier version of the tousled but put-together look for guys with longer locks involves, well, more tousle. Skip a defined part of any kind and run your hands through your mane with some styling cream to pump up the volume in the front of your hair all while pushing strands backward and off your forehead to keep that clean look.
