ixty-six Republican committee members from legislative district 28 voted unanimously to censure Peoria Mayor Cathy Carlat. The censure, which was issued on July 22, accused Carlat’s conversations with a “sitting Democrat” as a supposed endorsement. An Aug. 24 statement released by LD 28 said the “sitting Democrat” was former Peoria City Councilmember and mayoral
candidate Bridget Binsbacher. “She has endorsed her protege, and former Peoria City Councilmember of seven years Bridget Binsbacher as her successor,” the statement said. “The Executive Board of Legislative District 28, encompassing a large portion of Peoria, has reached out to Mayor Carlat as well as Bridget Binsbacher via email with no response. rizona Broadway Theatre’s annual fundraising ball has been taken over by King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table this year, and all Valley residents are in for a memorable evening. The professional theatre is hosting a Monty Python-inspired charity ball, dubbed “Spam-a-palooza: A Knight You’ll Never Forget,” to launch its 202223 season. The fundraising event will honor longtime Arizona Broadway Theatre (ABT) board member Tom Eggleston, while celebrating and supporting per- Arizona Broadway Theatre will soon launch its 2022-23 season.
