ropical Smoothie wants to build a “fast-casual” restaurant with a drive-thru on a .76-acre parcel within Canada Crossroads, a retail center on the southwest corner of Lambert and La Canada in Oro Valley. It needs a conditional use permit — which must be approved by the Oro Valley Town Council — to operate a drive-thru at the business. That drive-thru, and the loss of Santa Catalina Mountain views from the patio of locally owned and operated restaurant Harvest, were raised as worries by residents who attended a neighborhood meeting on the proposal June 27. “We just need to preserve Oro Valley,” said resident Anne Marie Rogan, an Oro Valley resident who enjoys outdoor dining at Harvest and nearby Caffe Torino with her husband, Jim, and their friends. “This is a diamond. When it’s gone, it’s gone. “We want you in our town, we really do, we love young people, and entrepreneurs,” Rogan told the applicants. “But you have to come in and fit within us. You
