The spiritual leaders of SanTan Sun-area churches, temples, mosques and other religious and spiritual gathering places are invited to contribute their Spiritual Reflections in essay format by sending their thoughts, enlightening insights and other writings of a spiritual nature to news@santansun.com.
Be certain to put “Spiritual Reflections submission” in the subject line, and keep your articles around 200-300 words, or they may be edited for length. Include your first and last name, title and facility name, address, phone number and website.

Boutique, meeting feature
Reiki talk
Shalom Hadassah has set its meeting and boutique for Tuesday, Nov. 18, at the Oakwood Clubhouse, 24218 S. Oakwood Blvd., Sun Lakes.
From 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., the boutique will feature scarves, jewelry, T-shirts and purses from several vendors. Bring cash or checks to pay for purchases.
The luncheon will begin at 12 p.m., followed by a speaker on Reiki, a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation.

Funeral planning seminar held
A free seminar on funeral planning will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 2, at the Ceramics Room 7, at the Cottonwood Clubhouse, 25630 S. Brentwood Dr., Sun Lakes.
Denice Scholar, a representative from Mount Sinai Cemetery and Mortuary, will speak about funeral traditions from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., followed by a question and answer session. Light refreshments will be served.

Holiday Boutique and Bake
Sale hosted by St. Matthew
St. Matthew United Methodist Church United Methodist Women, who have many members who live in the Chandler area, are holding a Holiday Boutique and Bake Sale from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 7, and from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8. The sale will include unique hand crafted items, baked goods, gift wrapping and pictures with Santa from 9:30 a.m.to 1:30 p.m. Saturday.
Dinner is available Friday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. and lunch is available Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The sale is being held for the United Methodist Women to support their local missions, as well as missions worldwide.
