t has been another year of Van Isle Windows giving back to our communities. Starting back in 2020, after a brief shut down due to Covid, Van Isle Window was one of the few businesses fully operational with their employees working, paying bills and feeding their own families. This was not the case for many businesses and their employees in 2020 and it is still a challenge present day. Today, with the high cost of living, it’s becoming more and more difficult to make ends meet. The cost of food can be prohibitive for many folks, leaving them in a difficult position to feed themselves and their families. After hearing a program on CBC radio that the food banks needed help, Van Isle Windows felt there was no better place to provide their support. In the Spring of 2020, they launched a sales promotion and agreed to donate a portion of window and patio door sales revenues to local food banks, and raised $45,225, which was distributed in various quantities, to local food banks. Recognizing the ongoing and continued need, in 2021 they continued to support local Food Banks and similar food related initiatives on Vancouver Island and Gulf Island communities and raised another $27,225. In 2022 VIW was

A U.S. Coast Guard icebreaking ship has been working since Thursday to help the Manitoulin, and on Saturday officials said a second ship arrived to help free the freighter. The Canadian Coast Guard also has a ship assisting with the effort. A U.S. Coast Guard helicopter is at the scene conducting flights to monitor the situation. A third U.S. Coast Guard ship is also scheduled to arrive on Monday, in case the Manitoulin remains stuck.
