local high school teacher has been censured for serious misconduct involving a female colleague and has had his teaching registration cancelled. The decision was delivered by the NZ Teachers Disciplinary Tribunal following a long history and stems from charges relating to events in 2012. The decision, made in December 2016, found Pakuranga College teacher Wayne Glynn MacKay, assaulted another teacher (her name is suppressed) by placing his hand between her legs and/or pulling underwear to one side and touching her genitals.

He was also found to have brought discredit to the profession by referring to her breast size. Pakuranga College principal Michael Williams told the Times it was unfortunate that it has taken so long for the issue to proceed through the Education Council Disciplinary process. “The incident occurred in 2012, over five years ago. “We were extremely disappointed in Mr MacKay’s behaviour and the school took immediate action, as would any responsible employer.” He said it was clear that this was an isolated incident and students were not involved or at risk.

“At Pakuranga College we pride ourselves on providing a safe and supportive environment for all staff and will continue to support those affected by this incident.” Mr MacKay had been newly appointed as a dean in late 2011 and he and the victim came to share an office. Evidence to the Complaints Assessment Committee heard she became exposed to more of his “overly familiar behaviour”. She felt he was becoming “domineering towards me”. She also said she considered his behaviour towards her became more overtly sexualised, “frequently blatantly looking me over”. Another witness gave evidence

of the victim complaining prior to the incident – which occurred on February 29, 2012 at a parents evening – that Mr MacKay was “really intense” and “too familiar” and that she did not feel comfortable being in a small office with him. Among those giving evidence to the tribunal was Mr Mackay’s wife – also a teacher at the school - who said she felt the victim was “sexually interested in her husband”. Mr MacKay – who emigrated to New Zealand from South Africa in 2001, insisted in his evidence the complainant had grabbed his hand and pushed it down. ➤ Turn to Page 6

Bridge upgrade long overdue T

he dangerous Chapel Road Bridge is to be upgraded. The bridge, more than 60-years-old, has been the site of multiple crashes in the past decade. Botany MP Jami-Lee Ross said the upgrade was long overdue. Between 2006 and 2016, there were 56 crashes on this section of road — 26 injury crashes, including four fatalities and six serious injury crashes. “It’s just not good enough for this section of road to sit like it is for much longer,” Mr Lee said. “Locals will know this bridge as the narrow dog leg on Chapel Road by Barry Curtis Park and Sancta Maria College.” Mr Ross recently hosted Associate Transport Minister, David Bennett, and took him to view Chapel Road Bridge. “We have good news — the Government is on track to be the major funder of a significant upgrade to this bridge with construction planned to start in the next year or so,” he confirmed. “Chapel Road Bridge is a particularly bad narrow bridge. It was built in 1954 to a rural standard, with no pedestrian access.” Critically, it is also in the middle of a fast-growing community and is no longer fit for purpose. Currently, 15,000 vehicles a day cross the bridge. “With population growth anticipated to be one of the key

challenges for Auckland over the next 30 years and with 40,000 people expected to live in Flat Bush, upgrading the road and bridge to widen it, to improve safety, and to provide pedestrian access is important.”

By Nick Krause Proposals to slap tighter parking restrictions in Howick’s Uxbridge Road car park are receiving a lukewarm response from some businesses. Auckland Transport (AT) this month sent out a letter saying it had received a request from the local business (sic) “to look into the parking situation in the Uxbridge Rd car park. The Times has asked to AT to clarify this. AT has had previous discussions with the Howick Local Board “on ways to address these issues”, which was also raise das part of the Town Centre review in 2014, 2015. “There is increased congestion and competing demand for on-street parking in and around the surrounding streets of the Howick Town Centre,” this month’s letter from AT said. AT proposes to: ■■ Implement time restrictions at the top part of the Uxbridge car park on both sides of the parking bays, and ■■ Introduce P120 parking time restrictions applying between 8am-6pm Monday-Sunday. The Howick Village Business Association said:“The HVBA believe it would be prudent for this project to be incorporated into the Town Plan rather than in isolation” Howick Local Board chairman David Collings said the issue was considered as part of the Howick Parking Strategy, proposed by AT, in 2014. “The Howick Local Board only supported very minimal changes to parking around Howick and strongly opposed any introduction of any payand-display or any major changes,” Mr Collings said.

proposed targeted rate on accommodation providers may cause local organisations to miss out on prime funding from the Mount Wellington Charitable Trust. The proposed rate forms part of Auckland Council’s annual budget for 2017/2018 and will replace $27.8 million of general rates funding spent by council annually on visitor attractions and major events. All commercial accommodation providers, including hotels, motels and bed and breakfasts, will be required to pay a rate that works out to be approximately 4 per cent of their revenue, which is expected to increase the cost of a nightly stay by around $6-$10 for a typical hotel when passed down to visitors. It is expected some accommodation providers will face rate increases of up to 250 per cent. General manager of Waipuna Hotel and Conference Centre and chief executive of the Mount Wellington Licensing Trust, David Comery, is expecting a rates increase of $400,000 for the hotel if the proposal goes ahead. He said the difference may need to be deducted from charitable giving in order to maintain operations at Waipuna, where 80 per cent of business is New Zealand-based. “Our gifting programme to needy entities within our community, amounting to some $1.6million this year, may have to be cut short by the additional $400,000 Council is considering taking from us in the 2017/18 year. “It’s not a certainty... but [if the proposal goes ahead] the work of the Charitable Trust will inevitably be impacted.” Owned by the Mount Wellington Licensing Trust, all profits from the hotel (after capital expenditure and debt repayment) are gifted to the Mount Wellington Charitable Trust and donated back into community organisations. In the past year, more than $1.6 million has been given to community organisations by the Licensing Trust in total through its charitable subsidiaries. Recent donations have helped local students pursue tertiary studies, built a new pontoon on the Tamaki River, supported the building of a bariatric ambulance for St John, provided care for senior citizens and built a smarter messaging system for a primary school. A donation to the Middlemore Foundation from the proceeds of the Waipuna Fun Run and Walk (sponsored by the Waipuna Hotel and Conference Centre) has helped to ensure an accuvein becomes part of the standard equipment in use on the medical floor of Middlemore Hospital. An accuvein is a special tool used to light up veins in a patient’s arm, increasing the ease of putting in lines and injections, particularly for children and staff at Kidz First. Mr Comery said while he appreciates the funding challenges faced by Council and

en Zhang is convinced that if you put your mind to it, you can achieve anything you want. And who should know it better than this high achieving, just-turned-17 Macleans College student. Ben has topped New Zealand in English Literature, Chemistry and received the best across three Cambridge International A Levels in the Cambridge International Examinations (CIE)? Ben admits he was shocked to discover he scored the highest in New Zealand, the best across three A Level subjects. “It’s the highest combined score in the whole country,” he says. It earned him the top Cambridge Scholarship of $10,000. The deputy head prefect of Macleans College attributes it to paying heed to his grandmother’s advice. “When I was younger, my grandmother used to tutor me in maths and science. She used to tell me to study one hour a day, every day of the year. If you do that every day, it helps,” he says.

This disciplined approach has helped him not only to study ahead and appear for Year 13 exams in Year 12 but also score high academically. “I make sure I finish all my homework in school so that I can read further and make notes at home,” he says. He’s also opted for subjects like Earth and Space Science that are not taught at school and relies on extra self study to score high. Excelling in English Literature Cambridge International A Levels with a score of 297 is a big feat for Ben who moved to New Zealand from overseas in 2006. “I wasn’t very good in English and it was one of my weaker subjects at intermediate school. “I dedicated all my time at high school to excel in the English language,” says the young scholar, who has also completed nine NZQA scholarship exams. Ben who is fully engaged with extracurricular activities and plays tennis and volleyball as well sing in the choir and play in the school concert band, believes that ask-

ing questions and getting the teacher’s guidance on where to look for answers, helps. When Ben is not playing sport or studying hard, he volunteers on weekdays from 4pm-9pm on the Kids Helpline. “We do phone counselling for children and youth from ages of 8-18. We listen to the youth and offer peer support. I have been doing it for a year now,” he says. Ben believes “exam time means consolidating all that you have learnt,”and says he is going to pursue biomedicine at university. “I will be applying at Ivy League American universities.” Having visited Georgia last year as part of a team that represented New Zealand at the International Chemistry Olympiad, Ben got a taste of life beyond the boundaries of a country. “The people are nice, the food is amazing and being with 300 other kids who are focussed and brilliant at an international competition, made me strive for the best,” he says.

On Monday night, the group hosted a new members night offering men the opportunity to learn how to sing four-part harmony in a variety of musical genres. Newcomers are welcome to join or visit anytime, said treasurer and singer Robert Kurz. Being the oldest chorus in New Zealand, the Auckland City of Sails Chorus has maintained a fantastic reputation within the barbershop industry winning multiple competition titles. The group, which started at MOTAT in mid-1979 and meets once a week in Mount Eden, is currently made up of 43 members including a significant contingent of east Aucklanders. lowest note in New Zealand and Australian barbershop, started with the chorus when he was 28 and is very proud of what the group has accomplished. Chorus member Warwick Jones grew up in Howick, joined the group around five to six years ago and encourages newcomers to give themselves a decent opportunity to try it out. “[At the beginning], you think gosh, I can never do that… but once you get in, it’s fantastic. Singing makes you happy and gives you good life,” he said. “It’s great

We’re the most eclectic bunch you’ll ever meet.” Members are provided with resources relevant to their part in the harmony and given the opportunity to learn under the direction of an accomplished musical director, as well as compete. It’s comparable to free singing tuition, said Mr Kurz. “We spend a lot of money on keeping that in place… it’s very important to us.” Rehearsals take place weekly 7:30pm at Balmoral Bowling Club, 14 Mont Le Grand Road, Mount Eden and there is no age limit.

GMT projects total $44 million G

oodman (NZ), which owns Highbrook Business Park, has announced a package of new developments at Highbrook Business Park totalling $44 million. The five projects, which include a further stage to The Crossing and two new industrial facilities, are expected to generate around $3.7 million of annual rental income once completed. The real estate investment trust company’s chief executive officer John Dakin said completing the development programme at Highbrook is a key priority. “These new projects are timed to take advantage of the positive customer demand and strong market conditions that currently exist,” he said. With a current value of more than $1 billion, Highbrook Business Park is the NZX-listed group’s (Goodman Property Trust or GMT) largest investment asset. Around 70 per cent of the way through its planned development, the 110 hectare estate already features more than 40 buildings, providing more than 380,000sqm of warehouse and office space.

folio recording an occupancy rate of 100 per cent, these new developments continue the highly successful build-to-lease programme that is delivering much needed capacity into a very constrained Auckland industrial market,” he said. “With most projects leasing well before completion it’s been an effective strategy that is growing cash earnings and improving an already high quality property portfolio.”

Polyfest, staged at the Manukau Sports Bowl, is the world’s largest Maori and Pacific Island festival with 60 schools participating. He headed straight to the University of Auckland Samoan stage and later to the Niue stage before visiting stall owners and mingling with students. Mr English also spent time

The festival also had Minister for Pacific Peoples, Alfred Ngaro and league legend Nigel Vagana attending a function at the ASB Activation Marquee.

From a small festival that started 42 years ago with barely four schools participating, to one that draws power packed performances from 228 groups, ASB Polyfest was buzzing with excitement with around 90,000 people attending over four days. The vibrant showcase of New Zealand’s diverse culture and celebration of youth performance had students simultaneously perform on six stages that included Cook Island, Maori, Niue, Samoan, Tongan and the Diversity stage. Spectators were treated to a range of amazing Pacific island performances and kapa haka at its best with division one groups

battling it out not only for the title but for places in the national kapa haka competition. Also spotted were local schools like Botany Downs Secondary College, Ormiston Senior College and Edgewater College put their best foot forward to give an electrifying performance. Educational stalls like the Te Wananga o Aotearoa, New Zealand’s second largest education provider had students flocking in to partake in different activities, while fire fighters gave an entertaining demo to students on being fire wise. All in all, the festival that celebrates a fusion of cultures like none other, ended on a high note.

It was 10 in the morning at Sancta Maria College and we were about to embark on the greatest journey of our lives – participation in Back to the Future. It’s the first time the college has hosted the event with the intention of allowing the Sancta Maria College parent community to see for themselves what it’s like to be a student in 2017. The new learning approach schools are focusing on nowadays is focused on equipping students for work life in the 21st century where learning agility is an increasingly important skill, said deputy principal Ray Green during the morning PowerPoint presentation. After a school tour led by prefects, 24 parents had the chance to select two classes to attend, with subjects ranging from Photography to Japanese to Social Studies. The first port of call for the Social Studies class was lining up outside for an icebreaker. “Are we kicked out already?” one parent joked. We all laughed – because we knew the reality couldn’t be further than the truth. If one thing was for sure, we were about to get schooled in twenty-first century education. Instead of a blackboard, we stared at a projector screen. Instead of shorthand and

dictation, we talked out loud to one another, collaborating and presenting. Instead of a sit-down desk for teacher Amber Stevens, she stood in the middle of the room, keeping an eye over devices and checking we were on track with our learning. I was told if we were students, we wouldn’t have been allowed in the classroom without a device that day. How bittersweet. When I was at school, I wasn’t allowed in the classroom if I had a device, let alone if I dared to actually use it. It’s important to balance the modern with the traditional, said Mrs Stevens, who has been teaching at the school since it first opened in 2004.

Recently introduced in parks throughout New Zealand and Australia, Magical Parks is an augmented reality mobile app by New Zealand start-up Geo AR Games, launched in 200 parks across Australasia. It is an app available on iOS and Android smartphone or tablets which creates augmented reality think Pokemon - worlds for kids to explore in their local park spaces. Magical Park has been made specifically for councils around New Zealand and the world for selected locations. Barry Curtis Park is one of the three parks in Auckland offering the geofence game. A geofence is a virtual perimeter for a real-world geographic area. Geofencing utilises GPS tracking. The idea behind Magical Park is to turn city parks into digital playgrounds for kids from 6-11. The school is scheduled to open for the school year starting 2019. The PPP will design, finance

and construct the school, as well as maintain it for 25 years. This approach means the school board can focus on teaching and learning rather than maintaining their buildings. Like all the new schools and redevelopments the Government has invested in, Flat Bush South East School will have state-of-the-art, modern and comfortable buildings to ensure local kids and their teachers have a chance to work in the best possible learning environment. Work is underway on Motuihe Island to upgrade kitchen facilities following a donation from the Howick University for the Third Age (U3A). The donation was gifted to the Motuihe Island Restoration Trust after various members visited the island to see the work that takes place. Volunteers co-ordinator of the Motuihe Restoration Trust, Fiona Alexander, said the money is being used to purchase a cupboard for storage, painting the kitchen in the woolshed and installing a new stainless steel sink bench, where volunteers have their coffee and tea. She hopes to have a new bench top stove and cabinets under it soon, and confirmed the work is due to be completed by autumn, when the main planting season begins. “Our volunteers will really appreciate this upgrade as the kitchen area has been in a very poor state for a long time,” said Mrs Alexander, who is a member of Pakuranga U3A. She visited the Howick branch of U3A in July last year and spoke about the work she does with the trust, inspiring Immediate Past President of Howick U3A, Tim Pearson, to organise a trip for members. The Motuihe Restoration Trust was formed in 2000, and since then has carried out significant works on the island, removing pests, planting trees and releasing endangered species into a safe habitat. This includes kiwi, saddlebacks, bell birds, kakareke and tuataras. President of Howick U3A Marian Heywood said the donation was given in the spirit of U3A, an international not-for-profit organisation that began in France with the goal of encouraging further learning for retired and semi-retired people. Meetings take place every second Monday in the month in the Nixon Hall on Sale St, Howick, beginning at 9:30am.

Wheelie bins welcome

Congratulations to the council for finally replacing rubbish bags with wheelie bins. Nothing was worse than bags which had been trashed by cats and dogs, also bags slashed by council employees in their quest to find a few grass clippings and/or fallen leaves from council trees and then simply left on the berms because of petty council rules. Take a look around on rubbish collection days. Some houses have six to eight bags whereas others, because of a small amount of what council employees consider ‘garden waste’ are simply left on one side. We have, for many years, been on contract with Waste Care for our rubbish collection and with complete satisfaction. Always on time, clean and tidy with never any question of “what’s in your bin?” Could we therefore, through the courtesy of your newspaper, get clarification of what householders can or cannot put in their bins, when this new operation begins. Has the Forum lost the Plot? The Hauraki Gulf Forum was established to manage the Hauraki Gulf, islands and foreshores in a sustainable way. You would therefore expect decisions to be based on this mandate. The February meeting of the Forum received a very thorough, logical and factual report on the potential impact of a housing development on shorebirds using the Tamaki Estuary. The report asked the forum to adopt a recommendation that the forum note the submission to the Local Government and Environment Select Committee previously made by the Gulf Forum chair (on their behalf) expressing concern about impacts of the proposed development on shorebird habitat. You would have thought that the meeting would have wholeheartedly supported the chair’s action on their behalf. But no, he had to withdraw the recommendation and consequently, the forum’s support for it, not because it made no sense, or conflicted with the forum’s basic responsibilities to protect the foreshore and endangered species, but because of objections that Ngati Paoa had not been consulted first. In December last year the Government announced it would take steps to sell almost 12 hectares, or about a quarter of Point England Reserve, to Ngati Paoa who intend to develop the area for housing. The housing development would destroy the primary roosting habitat of 50-90 per cent of the remaining wild shorebirds in the Tamaki Estuary. The development would cover 50 per cent of the endangered New Zealand dotterel nesting ground. Further, it would bring cats, dogs and people into the nesting ground, and inevitably lead to the destruction of the habitat. While iwi generally regard themselves as kaitiaki (guard-

The Howick Ratepayers and Residents Association (HRRA) and chair Gayleen Mackereth are to be highly commended for coordinating the campaign against the crass high-rise developments proposed for Stockade Hill and the Crawford reserve. The majority of residents certainly do not support these proposals which will spoil their magnificent views of the bay, the essence of Howick. Instead, only a few will benefit financially and be able to enjoy this view. Disappointing to see our councillors (with exceptions) are not ians) of the natural environment, it did not seem to be so in this case, when opposition to the submission was summed up by the following quote from the most vociferous opponent of the recommendation: “People are more important than birds”. In the local paper (Times, March 9) you, (Auckland Councillor - Howick Ward) Dick Quax, have reported that the sewage on Mellons Bay Beach has only leaked out on Mellons Bay Beach once in 15 years. I believe this information is fed to you via the computer system as installed somewhere in Auckland. I wish to inform you that we noticed the overflow in September, and again about a month ago and then again on Tuesday, March 7, and photos were taken. so that is three times in the last few months. Please take a look at the pressure relief manhole and you will notice that the erosion is regular and, because we have not been watching, I am quite sure that this is a regular occurrence. We will be monitoring this in future to correct your misinformation. Watercare did not attend a meeting at the pumping station on Mellons Bay recently. My/our request is to perhaps have a regular pump out by your mobile suction pump, which will empty sewage regularly from this huge sump, say every fortnight on a fixed schedule. My other concern is if the pump is not sufficient to pump

Do any of them stand to gain from this development and do any of them have family that would benefit from this development? We should have a full disclosure here. Government is to blame

On the radio, Phil Goff said that rates will go up by 16 per cent because of the need to increase the capacity of the infrastructure caused by the influx of immigrants. The other option is for the Governement to allow the council to make a congestion charge on motorists. As a superanuitant and a ratepayer who very seldom goes to the CBD, I favour the congestion charge. However these immigrants are supposed to be filling a gap in the work force but, in doing so, they create more gaps as they need and are entitled to healthcare, housing, social amenities etc so the problem never goes away. So the infrastructure problem in Auckland is of the Government’s making and they need to fix it otherwise the only solution for the ratepayers is to put them out of office at the next election and elect a government that will. House price expectations ease A

recent poll of public perceptions has revealed a softening in house price expectations. Property Institute of New Zealand chief executive Ashley Church says the Institute’s second poll of says the latest poll, which was conducted in February and which follows an earlier poll carried out in November, shows a change in public expectations in just three months. “The number of people predicting a decline in property prices over the next six months has increased from 8 per cent of those polled in November to 12 per cent in the latest poll,” he says. However, he notes that public sentiment still backs the expectation of house price increases – although this figure has dropped between the two polls. “Back in November 56 per cent of people thought property prices would keep rising in the next six months,” Mr Church says. “In the latest poll that number has dropped to 50 per cent which is still high, but reflects a softening in expectations in line with other recent data”. He also notes that the number of people expecting prices to stay the same has gone up from 28 per cent to 34 per cent.

Geographic breakdowns were also covered. Of those polled, 46 per cent of Aucklanders were predicting price increases in the next six months, down considerably on the 58 per cent recorded, by the poll, in November. The number of Aucklanders picking a decrease has grown too, up from 9 per cent in November to 14 per cent in February. Wellingtonians are the most likely to be picking property price rises (62 per cent), and the least likely to be picking a decrease (7 per cent). From a political stand-point the poll says Green (63 per cent) and New Zealand First (62 per cent) voters are most likely to nominate property price increases in the next six months. New Zealand First supporters were also the most likely to nominate a decrease in prices (18 per cent), while National supporters (44 per cent) were most likely to pick prices to stay the same.

voters (7.7). “While there has been a noticeable shift in public expectations around property prices, I would have expected it to have been more pronounced given current media coverage,” Mr Church says. “This would tend to suggest that Kiwis are generally more savvy about what drives house price inflation and realise that the recent stalling of the market has more to do with Reserve Bank policies than any changes in the fundamentals of the market. “It will be interesting to see if the trend continues in our next poll in April”.

Investors warned of meth risks National Real Estate chief executive, Bob Brereton, says first time property investors who choose to manage their own rentals are taking unnecessary risks – exposing themselves to loss of rental income, insurance issues, and often significant and expensive damage to their asset. Quoting statistics recently released by Meth Remediation firm Meth Solutions, Mr Brereton points to the significant rise in meth use, in particular, as a huge risk to inexperienced property investors who think they can save a few dollars by

he Hurricanes have four dynamic 97kg young guns who are making an explosive impact on the Super Rugby championship that opponents are struggling to contain. They are Ardie Savea, 23, Jordie Barrett, 20, Ngani Laumape, 22, and Vince Aso, 22, who are prospering under the coaching regime of Chris Boyd and John Plumtree. Cheng steps closer to ultimate goal

Quax takes gold again The Pakuranga Athletic Club returned with a haul of medals form the NZ Athletics Championships at Porritt Stadium in Hamilton last weekend. In fine conditions 1st place finishes were achieved by Theo Quax who followed up from his gold medal of last year with another in the U20 men 1500m, Ebuka Okpala [senior men triple jump] and Michael McElwee [Under 20 men 10k race walk]. Further podium results included Theo Quax[2nd under 20 men 4 x 400m relay], Rochelle Coster [2nd – senior women 4 x 100m relay], Peter Wheeler [3rd – senior men 1500m] and in a classy senior men 1500m field, Olympian Ryan Sissons ran well for 3rd, with Peter Wheeler 5th and the evergreen Jonny McKee 8th. ocal golfer Liv Cheng is moving closer to her goal of being the No.1 female player in the world after being awarded the KFC Golf Scholarship for the third consecutive year. After winning the 2016 scholarship, 23-year-old Cheng was able to compete in all 15 events in liv cheng her second year of the Symetra tour and finished a credible 64th on the Official Money List, up from 108th the previous year. The $10,000 KFC scholarship will help fund Cheng’s attendance of the full season of the Symetra Tour this year, with the goal of finishing in the top 10 of the Official Money List to gain automatic entry to the LPGA tour ranks. In May 2016, Cheng qualified for the US Women’s Open, her first Major championship. Cheng described the tournament as the highlight of her year.“I have had a taste of what it feels like to play amongst the best in the world at the biggest major championship of the year. The experience at the US Women’s Open has further fueled my drive to attain status to compete on the LPGA tour full time”, she said. Last year it was a major goal of Cheng’s to qualify to compete in the Olympics with fellow Kiwi, Lydia Ko, however she missed the cut at the

US Women’s Open, with her ranking falling just outside the Olympic qualifying spot. Cheng has recently completed the 2016/17 ALPG Tour season, finishing 15th on the Order of Merit. Highlights of the season included tying for second place at her sophomore Anita Boon Pro-Am, and tying for seventh place at the Brisbane International. Cheng feels that her third year of professional golf has been formative. “It has taught me many lessons about my game – especially the influence of my emotions and mentality,” she says. “I cherish and take each experience as a chance to learn and improve on all areas of my game. “The more I compete and the more experience I acquire on my road to the LPGA will only benefit in attaining my long-term goals. The KFC Golf Scholarship has helped me greatly and I look forward to improving even more in the new 2017 season.”

Tried and tested dishes such as roast chicken rub shoulders with exotic newcomers including Thai beef salad. Developing menus with more choice introduces more complexity for our chefs, but residents are enjoying selecting from a new range of restaurant quality options. Ryman Hospitality Services Manager Andrew Gibson says “We’ve tried to get a good mix of the old favourites – with some much more interesting meals. A good example is osso bucco – cross cut beef shank – and we have developed our own calzone (pizza).”
