We have enjoyed a wonderful start to the year here at Timbers Kiawah, with spring bringing renewed energy to our intimate beachfront setting. The property has been filled with the joy of families making memories together, highlighted by a memorable Easter weekend celebration. Guests of all ages delighted in a festive egg hunt, while our Easter Brunch featured beloved Southern classics—including Chicken & Waffles—alongside a variety of other seasonal favorites.
Behind the scenes, our team has been diligently preparing the property for the vibrant summer months ahead. Beach chairs and umbrellas have been refreshed and restored, bicycles have undergone preventative maintenance, and new bikes will be arriving soon to ensure Members can fully enjoy Kiawah’s scenic island trails. In addition, new beach and pool toy storage areas have been installed for easy grab and go access—whether you’re building sandcastles or enjoying a relaxing float by the pool, everything is ready for your stay.
PROPERTY UPDATES
The property has seen several exciting updates over the past few months of 2026. Three new propane heaters and three electric chillers have been installed for the pool and are fully operational—keeping the water comfortably warm now and ready to transition seamlessly as warmer temperatures arrive and the chillers take center stage in the coming weeks.
We are also pleased to share that new pool chaise lounges and tables have been ordered and are scheduled for delivery in mid May. In addition, select pool umbrellas will be upgraded, replacing those impacted by the island’s coastal winds.
As part of our ongoing capital plan, elevator air conditioning units have been installed in each residence building in accordance with the reserve schedule, enhancing comfort throughout the property.
To add a touch of local charm, each residence now features Wadmalaw Island teas from the Charleston Tea Garden, bringing a taste of the Lowcountry directly to your stay. Finally, we’re excited to introduce a refreshed Beach Club menu, debuting just in time for the summer season and available for all Owners to enjoy.

Our Owner Services team has been busy curating a variety of engaging, family friendly experiences for the months ahead. Owners can look forward to weekly Beach Club Mingles featuring fresh menu offerings and new concepts, along with seasonal favorites including a Mother’s Day Brunch, Father’s Day Cookout, and our much anticipated annual Fourth of July Pool Party.

Chef Mat DeAngelis has been creating inspired culinary experiences that have reinvigorated excitement around the food and beverage offerings at Timbers Kiawah. Through thoughtfully crafted holiday dinners that move beyond traditional buffet formats, Chef Mat has transformed the dining experience—most recently with a Prix Fixe Valentine’s Day menu and an à la carte Easter Brunch that were both met with enthusiastic acclaim. These culinary moments have extended beyond the table, with beautifully
curated spreads setting the scene at the Beach Club during the refreshed Owner Mingle, now hosted on Saturday afternoons. The gathering offers owners, their families, and guests an opportunity to connect at the start of their stay, fostering a sense of community and sparking an infectious energy throughout the property.
When Chef Mat isn’t in the kitchen, he can often be found spending time with his Golden Retriever puppy, Sky.

TURTLE SEASON HAS ARRIVED
As we enter sea turtle nesting season, we kindly ask for your help in protecting Kiawah’s endangered Loggerhead sea turtles. In accordance with the Town of Kiawah Island ordinance, all balcony lights must be turned off and curtains closed between 9:00 PM and sunrise from May 1 through October 31. Artificial light from residences can disorient nesting turtles and hatchlings, preventing them from laying eggs or finding their way safely to the ocean. Residences found to be out of compliance may be subject to a citation issued by the Town of Kiawah Island.
You can further support turtle conservation by following these important guidelines:
• Keep the beach clean by removing trash and helping protect the turtles’ natural habitat.
• Do not handle or disturb turtle nests, eggs, or hatchlings—they must imprint on the beach and crawl to the ocean on their own.
• Report any nest disturbances immediately.
• Watch for fresh turtle tracks and notify a Kiawah Island Turtle Patrol member if you see any.
• “Turtle Friendly” flashlight stickers are available through Concierge should you wish to take a late night beach stroll while safely lighting your way.
