Tilda Basics Catalogue 2026

This year we have added two new basic collections.

Brie is a sweet mini-floral, great for smaller appliqué projects and fun in combination with larger prints.

Poppyseed is a versatile tiny dot in grey pastels, perfect when you need something more than a solid and ideal for backgrounds. Brie and Poppyseed inspired the Vintage Nursery concept with sweet appliqué pillows for children.

Pillows are the theme for new basic patterns this year as we are also releasing two new patch embroidery pillow patterns.

Later in the year we are releasing a collection of Widebacks –four printed florals and four gingham wovens.

The Vintage Nursery is a collection of sweet appliqué pillow projects available on tildasworld.com.

The pillows are inspired by our new small-patterned fabric lines, Brie and Poppyseed, in combination with Creating Memories fabrics.

These collections all come with tiny buttons perfect for little details on figurative appliqué, like flower centres and buttons on clothes. Be aware though that buttons can be dangerous for small children, so consider the child’s age before adding buttons to a project.

Although some of the appliqué motifs require bigger fabric pieces, most can be made with charm pack size pieces. Tilda’s charm packs are therefore especially useful for these projects.

BASICS Brie ...

We just love the effect the Brie fabrics from Creating Memories have in patchwork and appliqué, both calming and interesting. Brie has the ability to create a contrast to larger prints without being boring and is perfect when working on small projects. We decided to add 12 colors and make Brie a new Basic line. The four colors marked with CM is from Creating Memories.

A group of sewing friends who love small appliqué and hand sewing, inspired us to make a new basic range with tiny dots. This versatile collection of dusty pastels is perfect for everything from small appliqué projects to backgrounds and bindings. We have also added a tiny PoppySeed button, great for figurative appliqué, and a Charm Pack which has two pieces of each fabric.

Creating Memories (p.10–19) are Seasonal Basics with a charming mix of small-patterned printed and woven fabrics. The collection is divided into four seasons by color: Spring and Easter Pastels; Summer and Ocean Blues; Autumn, Thanksgiving, Halloween and Winter Reds and Greens.

Although Creating Memories is divided into seasonal colorways, this small-patterned collection is versatile and useful for projects all year round. The fun Vintage Nursery concept combines Creating Memories with the new Poppyseed and Brie fabrics to make adorable scrappy-looking children’s pillows.

Me and My Friend Basics

Back by popular demand, the Me and My Friend fabrics are great for personal gifts, place cards, ornaments and fun appliqué projects. Now available in four colors as an addition to our Basic concept. The design consists of female busts in two sizes ranging from 3,3 to 5,7 in (8,5 to 14,5 cm) depending on hairstyle.

Many have been asking for Tilda Widebacks and we are happy to announce that they will be back as a basic this October 2026. Here is a preview of the upcoming designs. Ellie is a cozy printed floral in four colorways, inspired by the kind of patterns you would see on old nightgowns, to keep you feeling snuggly and safe under your quilt. The gingham is the same wonderful quality as the Creating Memories ginghams, just in a slightly bigger size. (Patterns are shown in 70% of real size.)
