1: Getting Started To switch the system on press the green power button once on the rear of the display. To power down click the button again and an option page will appear, select between power off or reboot. The Precision-IQ field application for the supported displays is an easy-to-use advanced field management system. From the Main start up screen, tap the Precision-IQ icon to launch the application:
From here you are able to set up many different resources depending on the application you are carrying out.
4
2: General overview On this page you are able to set up every resource required for the application you are going to undertake. Here is a general overview of each tab and what it does.
2.1: Vehicle Setup/Selection This tab allows us to set up and change vehicle settings depending on the tractor and steering system that is fitted. If you have multiple vehicle which you switch from one tractor to another you can save different profiles and select each one easily when changing tractor or vehicle. Certain vehicles require different licences to enable them to work. This tab should have been set up by your local dealer. To change the vehicle, highlight the required vehicle in the list and tap on select vehicle profile at the bottom. Wait for it to load and then restart the screen and machine to allow it to connect to the steering system in the correct process. Once you have restarted the machine and display you will get some liability warnings. These are standard with all autosteer guidance systems when starting the system (ez pilot pro, autopilot, ez steer etc). you will need to acknowledge both warnings to be able to use the autosteer function.
5
2.2: Field Setup/Selection This tab allows you to set and select different fields, you can set up fields under different farms and clients. Each field has separate ab lines and features saved to this name. To enter a new field, you will need to press on the field tab and then press new. You can then enter the name of the field and the client and farm (client and farm are optional and are not required to create the field). Always create a new field when you are sitting in the field so it has an accurate reference point saved. Once the field is named it will appear in the box on the left and you are able to select it in the future for repeat operations. The closest field to the machine will appear at the top. You can also filter out certain farms and clients by tapping on the filter icon.
You can also delete fields in this page if you no longer need it. The separate field management page allows you to delete specific things within that field.
2.3: Task Setup This tab allows us to set up and delete task data, task data is the worked area of a field and is used to control section control in the field. When entering a field multiple times, you are required to put a new task in to enable the coverage to be cleared and for
6
section control to work. To do this you tap on the task tab and then press new, you can then enter a new name for the operation that you are doing. a new task is automatically created when a new field is created. When you change fields, it will automatically change to the task you were previously using when in the field last, if you want to use the same task for multiple fields you must select the task when changing fields or copy and paste the task name into the new field.
2.4: Material Setup/Selection This tab is only needed when using application control and is used to set up target rates and information about the product that you are applying. Please see the ISOBUS/application control user Manual.
2.5: Implement Setup/Selection This tab allows us to set up and edit implements that you use. You can save many different implements to allow us to easily change from one job to another. You can also set up application control system in the tab i.e., ISOBUS, serial rate control for section control and variable rate applications. All application control set ups will require a separate licence. First click on the implement tab in the PIQ home screen, next you can select the new button at the bottom. From here you can follow the on-screen instructions to enter the data of the machine. Always measure the implement yourself to make sure it is the correct measurement being entered.
7
The first page is for application control and set up for this can be found in the separate application control and ISOBUS set up document so this should be left as none. On the next pages you are able to set up the following parameter depending on the implement you are using. You can’t move to the next page until you have filled out all of the required boxes marked with a
• Type of operation you are going to be doing, • Type of implement, • Name the implement • Hitch type (Drawbar or fixed mount) • Measurement from the hitch or three-point linkage to where the machine will touch the ground (tines or disks) you can select if it is forward or back of the tractor for front mounted implements. Default is behind and is a minus number. • Application width (working width of the machine) • Number of rows on the machine. • Swath width, usually the same as the application width but is used to create overlaps/skip for the implement. If this is set smaller/larger than the application width then the difference will appear in the overlap/skip measurement. • Left or right offset if required. • Physical width and length of the implement, this is used for next swath headland turning but is required in all implement set ups. • Application control set up (not required for basic implement set up).
8
Once you have entered all the information you will then get a summary page where you can check your measurements that you have entered, if they are all correct, you can tap the tick button and this will save the implement. If you want to change the measurements, you can enter the set-up page via the edit button and change any settings, if you change any setting make sure to go through all pages and re save by tapping the tick on the summary page. Once the implement has been set up it will appear in the box on the left and you are able to select this implement for future operations by tapping on the implement you would like to use and then pressing the load implement profile at the bottom.
2.6: Virtual Section Control Virtual section control is a manual feature within the precision iq implement set up that allows you to show sections on the run screen as a manual guide for when to switch off your sections.

5.9: Landmarks Tab On the Run screen, you can define a variety of point, lines and area landmarks. Tap the Field Features button to define them for your field:
Create a Landmark Point for your field. A Landmark Point identifies singular elements of your field to be avoided, such a tree, rock, etc.
Create a Landmark Line for your field. Use this line to identify continuous elements of your field to be avoided, such as a fence, ditch, access road, etc.
Create a Landmark Area for your field. Landmark areas are defined as:
Productive, such as a crop zone.
Non-productive, such as a pond, marsh, or area that does not need to be worked again.
29
5.10: Coverage Tab In the tab you are able to select the type of coverage want to record. Overlap - shows you areas that have been worked. Height - Shows you the height above sea level GPS Quality - shows you the quality of the GPS signal in different areas of the field. Speed - speed you are travelling at in different parts of the field XTE - The distance you are from the line
5.11: Version 13.4 Firmware Updates Version 13.4 and higher firmware has a slightly different layout and some added features. The main feature that has been added is that you are now able to generate headland patterns from a boundary that has been created. Within the guidance editor tab, you have more options than earlier versions.
30
The basic guidance tab allows you to create simple guidance lines as explained above.
The speciality guidance tab allows you to create a headland pattern from the boundary that has been created. A valid boundary must have been created before this feature can be used. To create a headland pattern, first follow the instructions outlined in 5.1 to create a boundary (you must go into the simple boundary tab to create this). Once you have created a boundary, you can then go into the speciality guidance tab, select headlands, and then choose the boundary you have created from the drop-down list. Next you can set your parameters for the headland pattern, how many circuits, swath width (which will be pre-populated from the implement width), turn radius (how tight the turns of curves are), and the infill line you would like to use (you can only select a previously created line). Tap the create button, this will then generate a headland pattern for you from the boundary that you have previously created including an inner boundary. Free Form - Free form is a task specific AB guidance generating tool. It is used in irregular fields where basic guidance lines cannot be used. It is task specific which means it is only used on the specific task and cannot be used in any other task.
31
In the free form tab, you can enable this feature. Once this feature is enabled you cannot create any basic lines until it has been disabled. When you go back into the basic guidance tab it will automatically disable freeform. There are two options in the free form tab, the first being freedom AB line. To create a line, press the AB freeform button, then press set A where you want the line to start, drive a specific distance and press set B, then save. This will create a straight AB line. From this you can record a freeform curved line while engaged on this line which allows you to record a straight line and a curved line around an obstacle. To create a freeform curve, tap the freeform curve button. You can then select to record the line manually, while engaged or with coverage. These are dependant on the application you are doing. Most basic lines will use manual recording. Engage on the AB line that you have created or start driving where you want to record the line, tap the record button. There is an icon that will appear in the bottom left of the display when you are recording. There is also a record button at the top of the screen that can be used to start and stop the recording. Drive around any obstacles while you are recording, you can also pause the recording at any time which will create a straight line from where you tap pause to when you tap play again. Once you have reached the end of the field tap the stop button. This will then create a freeform line around any obstacles that you want to drive around.
32
If the field changes shape as you work across it, you can record more lines as you go. The lines are only saved in the task and not the field manager page.

14: Email Setup The Trimble displays are an android based running system so you are only able to use certain approved apps to access emails and apps within the display. To set up your emails you can tap on the apps button in the centre of the first start up screen. Then you can press and hold the email app and drag it to the home screen, you can then set up your emails on the display as you would on any other android device.

14.1: Apps You can also download Trimble approved apps onto the display, to do this you need to have an internet connection on the display. You can then go to the app central icon on the start up screen, the go to the three lines in the top left, you will then be able to go to browse apps and it will show you recommended apps and you are also able to search for other apps. Please note that some apps are unavailable as they are not approved by Trimble for use on there displays.

15: AutoPilot Troubleshooting 15.1: Roll Corrections The roll correction is used to set the machine up so that it runs in the correct place, as each system installation is different this measurement can be different for each machine. If you drive the tractor down an ab guidance line with the auto steer engaged for about 100m, turn the tractor around and engage back on the same line driving in the opposite direction, the tractor should track back into the same tracks from the previous run. To adjust the settings if the system is out follow these steps. - Engage the tractor and drive a straight ab guidance line - Stop the tractor when the offline distance is on zero - Put the tractor in park and set a marker in the ground 1m from the rim of the tractor and in line with the rear axle (making sure the point won’t hit on the implement) - Drive up the line and turn around driving back down in the opposite direction with the auto steer engaged, stop the tractor at the point marked so the axle is in line with your marker - Measure the distance from the rim to the marker

Deduct the original measurement from the new measurement taking note of the offline distance on the screen (if the offline distance on the screen is on 2cm left and the measurement on the marker is 2cm left then the roll correction figure is 0cm). This measurement is the roll correction figure that needs to be entered into the screen. There are two places to enter this measurement in the screen. Option 1 - Vehicle profile tab - Calibrate - Roll correction - Enter the measurement calculated noting if it is to the left or the right Option 2 - Tap on the Heart beat (diagnostics) icon on the right - Tap on configuration under autopilot tab - Tap advanced at the top - Enter the measurement on the right under roll correction noting if it is to the left or the right
