Thermal Hazard Technology (THT) are pleased to announce strengthening of its sales and service capability in North America. Whilst retaining the THT-Inc Indiana office, THT has appointed RT Instruments (RTI) as exclusive representatives. In addition to RTI’s direct sales personnel based in locations around the USA - RTI’s proven service team now allow local support for THT products. We are pleased to be partnering with RTI to increase our position in the American market and provide excellent service to satisfy customer demands. Contact RT Instruments by email info@rtinstruments.com or telephone +1 530-666-6700. Demand for THT instruments continues to grow at an unprecedented level. In line with our growth and expansion of the business, Manooj Bains joins our UK headquarters as Electronics Assembly Technician and Tyrone O’Neill as Mechanical Assembly Technician.

In house testing results show cooling from room temperature to -20°C takes as little as 35 minutes. Temperature stability at -20°C was recorded as +/- 0.02°C
ASU+ Development is now completed on the improved stirring option for the ARC. This will replace the existing Automatic Stirring Unit (ASU) and is known as the ASU+. This new option has been completely redeveloped and the original motor has been replaced with a high-specification stepper motor. This motor allows a much faster spin-up of the stirring magnet, and a much more precisely regulated stirring speed.

As with all THT options, the ASU+ can be retro-fitted to existing ARCs and purchased with new systems.
Read more in our short application note An Introduction to the THT ES-ARC for process safety in the chemical industry. This video gives a brief overview of the instrument and how it works.
µRC µRC: Improved Low Temperature Performance The current µRC has a lower temperature limit of -5°C when placed in standard laboratory conditions with 20-25°C ambient temperature. A new option is now available extending the lower temperature limit to -20°C. The upper temperature limit remains at 170°C.
View an Introduction to the THT µRC. The instrument is suited to testing small volume chemical samples (up to 1.5ml). It comes with a broad range of functionality, including temperature scanning, stepisothermal, heat capacity measurement and titration.

UIC Latest work on the UIC: Ultrasensitive Isothermal Calorimeter was presented at the recent International Heat Flow Calorimetry Symposium on Energetic materials (HFCS-EM), 25-28 Sept, Crane IN, USA. The UIC is principally designed for testing of propellants to STANAG 4582. The instrument has an isothermal temperature range of 35°C to 90°C with baseline noise of +/- 2µW. The presentation illustrates the instrument performance with readily available propellants; H414 and IMR4895. Findings tie in with data obtained from ARC and µRC and combine to gain a greater understanding of the material under test.
RSD Watch the new video for Rapid Screen Device. The RSD is a safety calorimeter designed for quick yet accurate safety evaluation of multiple chemical samples in a single test. This video provides a brief overview of the instrument and its functions
Conferences & Exhibitions November 27-30th CPhi / P-MEC India Bombay Exhibition Centre, Mumbai, India KAN-THT will once again be exhibiting at the CPhi pharmaceutical equipment and machinery show. Visit our stand # P51 in Hall 5BA
ARC User Training Course 2018 February 6-7th 2018 THT ARC users are invited to attend a twoday ARC Training Course at our UK Headquarters. The course is aimed at process engineers, working in the Chemical, Pharma and Energetics fields. The program will offer presentations on ARC test planning, data analysis, latest options and applications. In addition hands-on training and live demonstrations will enhance your skills as well as provide opportunities to network with other ARC users. The cost of the training course is £795. Places are limited and issued on a first come first served basis. To register and view the outline schedule please visit the event section of website. We look forward to seeing you at the meeting.
