HOUSE 99

Year 1 Final Project of Semester 2

Building Type Private Residence Area 150 sq.m.

Location Soi Sukhumvit 99, Bangkok

This project is a residential house design with a timber structure combined with reinforced concrete for a family consisting of a father, mother, an 8-yearold son, and a 72-year-old grandmother. The design is set within a designated plot of land, focusing on meeting the diverse needs of all family members.

According to the project requirements, the mother, a floral arrangement teacher, needs a dedicated workspace for 3-4 students, a private floral room, and a separate outdoor bathroom for guests. Their 8-year-old son has his own bedroom, and the 72-year-old grandmother, who enjoys TV and gardening, prefers a private room with an outdoor balcony where she can relax and enjoy fresh air.

WELCOMING HOUSE

Year 2 Midterm Project of Semester 1

Building Type Private Residence

Area 300 sq.m.

Location Soi Yothin Phattana 3, Nawamin, Bueng Kum, Bangkok

This project involves designing a home for a small family. The main residents are Professor Kaew, a 40-year-old avid traveler and nature enthusiast, along with her 80-year-old father and 71-year-old mother, both passionate about plants. They frequently welcome visitors, including Kaew’s younger sister’s family for meals and gatherings, her father’s plant-loving friends who sometimes stay overnight, and Kaew’s friends who visit for social events.

The house embraces “openness” through natural light, ventilation, flexible spaces, and seamless flow.

Folding glass doors and high windows enhance airflow and daylight while eaves and balconies prevent rain splashes. Indoor and outdoor seating ensures comfort, using natural materials for warmth. The design connects indoor spaces to the garden, pool, and both floors, promoting interaction and easy communication.

Designed for elderly residents, the house places all main rooms on the ground floor for convenience, with guest rooms and a lounge upstairs. An external staircase ensures guest independence. The parents’ bedroom, near the vegetable garden and prayer room, allows easy access for the mother’s morning routine.

AGORA

Year 2 Midterm Project of Semester 2

Building Type Mixed-Use Commercial Area 1,000 sq.m.

Location Sriviang road, Silom, Bangrak, Bangkok, Thailand

The land measures approximately 30.00 x 45.00 meters, totaling around 1,350 square meters (337.5 square wah). It is located in a central urban area surrounded by both residential and public buildings, catering to both locals and foreigners. This makes it an ideal location for developing public spaces for commercial and recreational purposes.

The area consists of four main sections: the main area for Agoda, a 24-hour minimart, rental spaces for offices, shops, and restaurants, a court for special activities, and finally, a parking area with space for 17 cars.

The court is designed to host activities that engage the surrounding community, creating a space for events and gatherings that foster interaction among locals and visitors alike. This dynamic setup not only serves the needs of the businesses within the area but also contributes to the vibrancy of the neighbor-

The design focuses on the connectivity between different areas, featuring an atrium that links all floors together. Each floor also has balconies where people can sit and chat, creating a community space where everyone can spend time together.

In the center of the court, trees are planted to enhance the greenery and bring a sense of tranquility to the space. This natural element contrasts with the primarily steel and reinforced concrete structure, creating a relaxing atmosphere amidst the industrial materials.

HAROON

Year 2 Final Project of Semester 2

Building Type Community Learning Center

Area 700 sq.m.

Location Soi CharoenKrung 36, Bangrak, Bangrak, Bangkok, 10500

To promote the preservation of Islamic art and culture, support the well-being and relationships of the community, and enhance the overall health of the people, the “Harun Community Learning Center” project was created. It serves as a space for learning between community members and the general public, while also functioning as a place for income generation, community activities, and recreational areas for the local residents.

Upon surveying the community area, it was found that there are many children living nearby, but there is a lack of space for them to play and no areas for people to gather and socialize.

Therefore, the intention is to create a community space that is accessible and inclusive for everyone, with equal opportunities for all to use. The design also includes a prayer room oriented towards Mecca.

The design features intricate lattice patterns, symbolizing the rich Islamic art and culture, which is a key element of this project. These detailed patterns are thoughtfully integrated throughout the entire space, creating a cohesive aesthetic that ties the various areas together. Additionally, the use of a traditional gable roof helps the structure blend seamlessly with the surrounding community, respecting the architectural style of the area while maintaining a distinctive identity. This thoughtful combination of cultural elements and modern design ensures that the building not only serves its functional purpose but also contributes visually and culturally to the environment.

Year 3 Sketch Design of Semester 1

Facade Unfolding Design Contest

DECAAR by SCG X Cafe AmazonLocation

Under the concept “Taste of Nature,” creating a refreshing, nature-filled atmosphere like an oasis for travelers. The name “Cafe Amazon” is inspired by the lush, resource-rich Amazon rainforest in Brazil, the world’s largest coffee producer. This café serves as both a connection to the world of coffee and a meeting place for travelers.

The design integrates nature through visuals, scents, and textures, creating a relaxing atmosphere that blends with the surroundings. The café, inspired by trees, features vertical wooden slats that can be adjusted with seasonal plants or decorations. The facade reduces direct sunlight while allowing soft light and breezes to create a comfortable, airy environment in the Modern Minimal style.

MODEENA COFF

FLAT KHA

Year 3 Midterm Project of Semester 1

Building Type Residential

Area 5,200 sqm

Location Don Mueang, Bangkok 10210

This project involves the design of a mid-sized residential building for low-income tenants on a limited plot of land in a medium-density urban area. The design maximizes space efficiency while complying with legal regulations and zoning laws. It is tailored to the land value and government subsidies, ensuring affordability while maintaining quality living standards. The project fosters a sense of community and aligns with the lifestyle needs of low-income residents, promoting a better quality of life through innovative and thoughtful architectural design

The design consists of four main sections: a central communal area, 100 residential units of approximately 35 sqm each, a service area, and a parking lot for 27 cars. The primary goal of the project is to maximize space efficiency while ensuring a high quality of life for residents.

The single-corridor layout keeps hallways open and offers garden views, fostering community interaction. The angled floor plan maximizes space, creating a larger central courtyard and increasing distance between units for better ventilation, openness, shade, and privacy

Due to legal restrictions limiting the building height to 23 meters, each residential floor is designed with a 3-meter ceiling height. The use of concrete block elements in the building enhances natural ventilation, ensuring better airflow throughout the space. This design choice aligns with the preference of most residents, who prefer not to use air conditioning, promoting a more comfortable and energy-efficient living environment.

The residential units are designed to be flexible, accommodating 2 to 4 occupants. Each unit includes a service area aligned in the same direction, ensuring effective ventilation and airflow to the outside.

The facade is designed with a steel structure incorporating perforated panels in two different hole sizes, adding depth and visual interest to the building. This layered design not only enhances aesthetics but also plays a functional role in filtering sunlight, reducing heat, and improving ventilation.

The choice of green as the primary color reinforces a connection to nature, creating a refreshing and tranquil atmosphere for residents. This design giving the building a distinctive and recognizable identity, blending functionality with architectural beauty.

THE FURRY FRIEND

Year 3 Final Project of Semester 1

Building Type Mixed-use

Area 2,500 sqm

Location Kanlapaphruek road, Bangwa, Phasi Charoen, Bangkok

This pet clinic is located in a community area and offers comprehensive services, including medical care, pet grooming, and the sale of accessories and food for small animals. It aims to provide convenience for customers and pet lovers who come to utilize its services.

The project consists of four main zones: a pet clinic, a pet hotel, a recreational area, and a support zone. Together, these zones create a well-rounded and convenient destination for pet owners.

This is a community designed to bring happiness to both city dwellers and their pets. It’s a space suitable for pet owners and non-pet owners alike, where people can meet, interact, and enjoy watching pets play. The community is open, airy, and relaxing,

providing a peaceful escape from the stress and chaos of the outside world. The use of yellow materials adds a vibrant touch, as it is a color visible to dogs, evoking a sense of fun, energy, and liveliness throughout the space.

THE COZY CORNER

Year 3 Final Project of Semester 2

Building Type Mixed-use

Area 10,000 sqm

Location Benjakiti park, Ratchadapisek road, Bangkok

The project involves designing a public building with a total area not exceeding 10,000 square meters and a height limit of 23 meters. The design focuses on creating functional spaces that support modern learning environments while considering the relationship between the building and its surroundings. Emphasis is placed on architectural aesthetics, fostering a welcoming atmosphere, and establishing a distinct identity that is both memorable and suited to its intended use.

The public library in Benjakitti Park is designed to blend seamlessly with its green surroundings, minimizing environmental impact while enhancing urban space and public interaction. It fosters a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere, encouraging community engagement. The design also integrates modern technology to create a convenient and engaging experience for visitors of all ages.

Each area is designed to suit its specific function. The carrel reading section, for example, is arranged to ensure privacy while allowing natural light in. The layout is intentionally curved, creating unique viewpoints for every seat, enhancing both comfort and connection to the surroundings.

FACADE & ROOF

The bookstack area is designed separately from the reading spaces, as it does not require much natural light or views. Instead, skylights are incorporated to bring in natural light from above. Books are categorized systematically for easy and efficient browsing.

The rooftop offers a relaxing escape from studying, providing fresh air, natural light, and scenic views. It encourages social interaction, casual conversations, or quiet contemplation, enhancing the library experience.

THE BLISS

Year 4 Midterm Project of Semester 1

Building Type Condomonium

Area 30,000 sqm

Location Soi Prasarnmit (Sukhumvit 23), Bangkok

The residential condominium aimed at meeting the demand for quality housing in Bangkok’s central business district. Asoke - Prasarnmit is a key business hub and home to numerous educational institutions, driving the need for high-quality residences. This project focuses on modern design, comprehensive amenities, and an environment that aligns with the lifestyle of the new generation.

Located in Soi Sukhumvit 23, a bustling area, this condominium aims to create a peaceful living space for students and office workers. The key factors for these users are convenience and time-saving in commuting.

Typically, living in a condominium means compromised living quality and congestion compared to a house, leading to a loss of certain aspects of happiness. Hence, the name “The Bliss” aims to restore happiness to residents

SWIMMING POOL GREEN RELAX SPACE
ENTRACE LOBBY
COMMON AREA

The project emphasizes incorporating green spaces to enhance residents’ happiness. However, maximizing green spaces alone may not suffice if access is difficult. Therefore, the design includes three levels of green space accessibility:

common areas on lower, middle, and upper floors; easily accessible green spaces between floors; and green spaces on the balconies of every residential unit.
