on June 17 will be laid to rest today in the family’s compound in Owa-Oyibu, Ika North-east Local Government Area of Delta State. The late octogenarian Dame of Anglican Church and mother

of the Chairman/Editor-inChief of THISDAY/Arise Media Group, Prince Nduka Obaigbena, was a former chief nursing officer in the defunct Bendel State. The series of activities,

which will culminate in the accomplished mother’s burial today, commenced with a commemorative birthday and Day of Tributes held on August 16 at Owa-Oyibu. The Owa-Oyibu community

is alive with hundreds of dignitaries from all walks of life on ground for the historic burial today. The funeral service for the Princess will commence at 11am in Owa Oyibu and would be

Wike has been at loggerheads with Atiku ever since the PDP candidate declined to pick him as his running mate for the 2023

election and instead, named Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State. The Rivers governor had earlier contested the presidential ticket of the

BON, NGE, NUJ Kick As NBC Orders Closure of AIT/RayPower, Silverbird TV, 50 Other Stations N2.6 billion debt triggered revocation, says regulator, moves to ensure immediate compliance using security agencies Bennett Oghifo The National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) yesterday revoked the licences of the AIT/ RayPower FM, Silverbird TV and 50 other broadcasting stations across the country over N2.6 billion indebtedness to the regulatory body. In a swift reaction, the Broadcasting Organisation of Nigeria (BON), the Nigerian Guild of Editors and the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), all described the action of the NBC as harsh and insensitive, in view of the economic crisis in the country, and called for immediate reversal.
