G7 Leaders Pledge $420m Investments in Nigeria, Other African Countries Adesina says resource-backed loans a 'disaster for Africa'

Leaders of the G7, an informal

association of seven of the world’s advanced economies and some of Nigeria’s biggest trading

partners, have pledged a $420 million investment commitment to boost infrastructure in Africa.

The G7 countries include: Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom, and

the United States, as well as the European Union (EU). Rising from its 50th summit

Ahmad Sorondinki in Kano A Federal High Court sitting in Kano has fined the Kano State

Government N10 million for breaching the 15th Emir of Kano, Aminu Bayero’s fundamental human rights.

Equally, the court has fixed June 20th 2024, to rule on a motion filed by the Counsel of Aminu Babba Dan'agundi, seeking nullification of

the Kano emirates council (repeal) law 2024. In the case with suit number FHC/KN/CS/190/2024, in which

the deposed Emir Bayero is the applicants, the 10 respondents in the case include the Attorney General of the Federation, Attorney

FG, Afreximbank Seal $3bn Deal to Boost Industrialisation, CNG, Others Partnership to attract $2bn investments, create 20,000 jobs

James Emejo in Abuja The federal government yesterday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Afreximbank to establish a $3 billion Nigeria Industrialisation Financing Facility for an industrial park and light manufacturing. Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr. Doris Udoka-Anite, signed on behalf of the country on the sidelines of the ongoing Afreximbank Annual Meetings (AAM) 2024 in Nassau, The Bahamas. The deal is expected to lead to the creation of special economic and agro-processing

zones across the country and create 20,000 jobs. The intervention would support the development of an automotive sector as well as the Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) value chain to better enable the automotive and transport sector in the country. The package would further cover the technical and financing support for the diaspora investment fund framework.
