The Presidency yesterday described as routine the movement of President Muhammadu Buhari
from the official Presidential residence to the Glass House, both within the State House in Abuja. This, it explained, is with a view
to allowing the official residence to be prepared in readiness for its next occupier, the President-elect, Bola Tinubu. Explaining the significance
of the change of residence for the President, Special Assistant to the President on Digital Communication, Bashir Ahmad, said it was a routine of
the transitional process that an out-going President vacates the official residence ahead of the inauguration, to give space for the preparation of the building

25 Percent Votes: 5 FCT Residents Ask Court to Stop Tinubu’s Installation, Extend Buhari’s Tenure Alex Enumah in Abuja Five residents of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have filed a suit
at the Federal High Court, Abuja, demanding an order to stop the swearing-in of the President-elect, Bola Tinubu, on May 29, for failing
to secure at least 25 percent of votes cast in the FCT. Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), was declared
winner of the February 25 presidential poll with 8,794,726 votes. The plaintiffs - Anyaegbunam
Okoye, David Adzer, Jeffrey Ucheh, Osang Paul and Chibuike Nwanchukwu - sued for themselves and on behalf of other residents

Labour Party’s candidate in the February 25 presidential election, Peter Obi declared yesterday that he must become Nigeria’s president, notwithstanding the declaration of Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress as President-elect by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). After Tinubu was declared winner of the poll with 8,794,726 votes, Obi and Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) filed petitions at the Presidential Election Tribunal, challenging the declaration and asking to be declared winners.
