As the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, meets tomorrow in Abuja, the Minister

of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike is alleged to be pulling all the stops to help National Chairman of the Party,

Umar Damagum, retain his office. Already, governors elected on the platform of the PDP are said to be divided on the main

agenda of the meeting, which is to either retain Damagum or replace him as some members have demanded.

In Major Move, Dangote Crashes Diesel Price to N1,000/litre from N1,200 Emmanuel Addeh in Abuja

In a move that has been described

as ‘unprecedented’ , the Dangote Petroleum Refinery yesterday announced a further reduction of

the price of diesel from N1,200 to N1,000 per litre. Members of the Independent

Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, had a few weeks ago said that local oil marketers set the

price at N1,225 naira per litre for diesel after securing a bulk purchase agreement, prior to adding their

mark-up.
