2024-2025 LEVEL I INFORMATION FORM Level I Excursions are those which take students to familiar settings within the local area for day­time activities which expose students to risks typically encountered in everyday living or while at school and which involve local transportation ­either by walking, subway, city bus, school bus, or taxi. Examples of Level I Excursions: trips to museums, local parks, a local store or neighbourhood, a library, an art studio, a concert hall, a theatre, another school, or athletic facility. Parental consent for Level I Excursions is given at the beginning of each school year.

Wednesday, September 25th, Morning (9:05-12:00) Students are to meet in the Learning Commons at 9:05 after homeroom. We will take the TTC from Summerhill to Osgoode Station. After taking measurements from various locations downtown, we will head back to school as a group from Union Station.

9_1 Accelerated Math 9_2 Accelerated Math Total 34 students Ms. Christine Joannou and one supporting teacher Front St., Ripley’s Aquarium, David Pecaut Square & surrounding areas Students will be collecting data using clinometers and mirrors to calculate the height of the CN Tower. Students will collect data numerous times and from a few different locations to be able to discuss the validity and reliability of the methods they used. This project gives students an opportunity to apply math to the real world, grapple with uncertainty and error, and practice report writing in math.
