SPCA dog walk Saturday 5th November The annual SPCA Dog Walk is on again in Wanaka this Saturday 5th of November. Our team of collectors and dogs will be out collecting donations for this worthy cause on Friday 4th November for the SPCA Appeal Collection Day. SPCA Inspectors play an integral role in the organisation’s work throughout New Zealand. Hands-on treatment of animals in crisis, management of emergency cases, advice to local councils, documentation for prosecution cases. SPCA Inspectors contribute significantly to the organisation’s primary goals of preventing cruelty to animals and in alleviating suffering of animals, education and advocacy. Please keep an eye out for raffle tickets on sale.
Raffle items will be on display at New World. The SPCA does a great job looking after the welfare of animals in the Central Otago area and other areas of NZ. Raffle prizes include the usual Grocery and Gift Hamper, Christmas cake and cushions.

The SPCA Dog Walk for all interested owners and dogs will be Saturday 5th November, leaving the waterfront carpark opposite The Lake Bar at 10.15am. This is a fundraiser for SPCA. $4.00 per dog and remember to bring some money for the raffle if you’d like to be involved. We would love to see you there for a walk along the lakefront.

The Wanaka community will be treated to two free days of entertainment when The Extravaganza rolls into town next week. Formerly the Gypsy Extravaganza, the travelling roadshow will be in town on Saturday and Sunday (November 12 and 13), bringing a unique style of market stalls, arts and craft, food, musical
entertainment and kid’s shows and games. There will be traditional sack races, tug of wars and musical bean bags to be won. Brought to town by ‘Another Roadside Attraction’ - which is a charitable trust supporting musicians & performers, local talent, buskers and street performers.

DENTAL ASSISTANT REQUIRED
HOSTEL ASSISTANT MANAGER We require an Assistant Manager at our Hostel to start mid January 2017, to assist the hostel manager in the care of 30 Year 13 students. This person will have a key role in the physical, social, emotional and intellectual development of the hostel students through the lifeskills and outdoor programmes. Applicants will need to have excellent interpersonal skills, a positive attitude, sense of humour, patience and discretion and preferably come with experience working with teenagers. This is a live in position, the hours are detailed in the job description and are term time only.
HOSTEL OUTDOOR PURSUITS COORDINATOR We require a person to coordinate the Hostel Outdoor Pursuits Sunday programme The position starts mid January 2017. The ideal candidate will be experienced in kayaking, rock climbing, tramping and mountain biking and have NZOIA qualifications in one or more disciplines. This position is a permanent position for Terms 1 and 2 and 4 weeks in Term 4 with a minimum of 13 hours per week. It is possible to for the one applicant with the right attributes to do both positions.
