Wanaka Concert Society’s next concert is a little bit different. Pianist David Selfe and percussionist Jeremy Fitzsimons will add live musical accompaniment using original composition, improvisation, and an array of sound effects to Charlie Chaplin films ‘A Dog’s Life’(1918) and ‘The Kid’ (1921). David started playing at age seven and by twelve had his own band playing gigs and concerts for all ages. Gaining a scholarship to The Purcell School in London and graduating at the Royal Academy of Music in London, he played keyboard in West End Shows. To learn more about David’s work, visit www.davidselfe.com.
Jeremy Fitzsimons, a freelance percussionist, has been principal percussionist of Orchestra Wellington, plays regularly with the NZSO and is percussionist with the Pink Floyd Experience. He was a founding member of Strike Percussion and Gareth Farr’s Drumdrag.
