The most inspiring week of climate action, learning, and local leadership is almost here. Wao Summit, running from 28 October - 2 November, brings together our local community for six days of kōrero, workshops, tours, and films designed to spark action and hope for our shared future. With this year’s bold theme, The Journey to 2125, the summit dares us to look ahead and ask: What kind of future are we building, and how can we shape it together? Each day explores a different part of that journey and great-value day passes make it easy to choose your focus, and join in when it suits you. The week begins on Tuesday with the opening session, The Journey to 2125 at Rippon. Wednesday is about Better Business, a full day of inspiring talks and

workshops that showcase how businesses can drive purpose and profit hand in hand. On Thursday, the Better Building Day dives into the future of sustainable design and construction, revealing how better buildings can create healthier, energy-efficient spaces for living and working. Friday’s Food Resilience Day turns our attention to the region’s food future, exploring how we can grow, share and eat more locally, guided by insights from the new Southern Lakes Food Resilience Report. The Better Communities Weekend rounds out the summit with free walking tours in Queenstown and Wānaka, community kōrero, and a special screening of the much-loved film ‘Think Like a Forest’.
