Meet at car park on the lakefront opposite Lake Bar at 10am to walk to Edgewater. Older dogs could start at Water Wheel car park Gold coin donation per person which goes toward SPCA appeal.All dogs on a lead please, bring walking shoes and ‘do-bags’. Hopefully it will be a lovely day like last year. Through a donation from the ‘Pelorus Trust’ a very successful desexing programme was run in Central Otago. A special thank you to all the Vet Clinics who participated.

Police attended a couple of domestic disputes this week. Please look out for your neighbours and call us on 111 if you have any concerns for their safety. Police attended a vehicle crash on the Cardrona Valley Road on the 3rd of November just north of the Cardrona Village which saw a female driver hit the metal barrier. She was alone in the vehicle and was seen and released by Ambulance at the scene. Police took a number of reports relating to damaged vehicles that were parked overnight at Raspberry Flat car park. No items or valuables were removed from the vehicles and it is possible they were damaged as a result of the heavy rain and wind over the weekend. With the heavy rain and wind we have had these last few days, I have seen lots of branches and rocks that have ended up on the road. Please be mindful of these hazards when driving, especially at night. Call for assistance if they are too big for you to move or in a dangerous position on the road. A word about the volunteers in our community: With all crashes, fires, incidents or callouts that our local Fire Brigade and Ambulance staff attend it is likely they are unpaid volunteers. Please don’t be afraid to thank them for giving up their time to come and help. I know the community thanks you very much. During spring and summer our town and its surrounding roads fill up with tourists and holiday makers. Please show them how considerate we are on the roads and help them if they are in need of directions. Watch your following distances and only overtake when it is safe to do so.
