WĀNAKA COMMUNITY WORKSHOP LOOKS TO THE FUTURE Complete the survey to have your say Wānaka Community Workshop is growing – and we are starting to think about what comes next. Founded in 2020, WCW is a charitable trust providing people across the Upper Clutha with access to practical tools, equipment, skills and opportunities to learn, make, repair and share. Our Wood Workshop and Sewing Room bring people of all ages and backgrounds together through memberships, classes, volunteer sessions and community projects, while helping to keep useful materials in circulation and out of landfill. From woodworking and sewing classes to mending, upcycling, repair projects and community initiatives, both spaces are used by people of all ages and abilities. Volunteers are an important part of what we do, sharing their knowledge and skills while creating opportunities for people to connect and contribute.

Visitors and new members are always welcome, so come along, have a look around, meet our members and see what happens at WCW. As membership and participation grow, we are exploring what WCW could offer in the future – and we want the community to be part of the conversation. What would you like to see? More classes and practical skills? Repair and reuse initiatives? Electronics, digital making or other creative activities? Could WCW work with other organisations to share resources and facilities?
