With less than two weeks to go until the fourth annual Wanaka Trail Ride, excitement is building for trail riders around the South Island. Months of planning and preparation has gone into the event, ensuring it’s going to be a fantastic day out for everyone involved. Organisers look forward to welcoming up to 1,000 riders on Sunday 22 April.
Ride: Online pre-registration is open now on the website! Pre-registration means you can take advantage of better pricing options, and it saves you time with the opportunity to collect your rider pack pre-event. Preregistration prices for adults are $65 (including lunch) or $55 (excluding lunch). Prices for junior riders are $20 (including lunch) and $10 (excluding lunch).
This is a significant fundraising opportunity for Wanaka Primary School and Montessori Children’s House Wanaka. Both schools have seen some great additions to their educational spaces in both the internal and external environment. Montessori Managing Teacher, Anne-Marie Love feels, “Very fortunate to be a part of such an amazing fundraising opportunity. This event involves a whole team, with diverse skills working towards one common goal”.
Volunteer: Entirely run by volunteers, there are still a few essential roles that need to be filled - and you don’t need to know a thing about motorbikes! MY COMMUNITY NEWS Art in the Park is back! Keep Saturday 21 April free - Art in the Park is is back with two new additions to the team, Tabatha and Pip. This event is one for the whole community, run by volunteers and offers up a huge range of local artists for your pleasure and consumption. We’re expecting more than 20 different artists, various groups of live music, local food, local beer, wine and coffee. You will also be entertained by MC Chris Wright, winner of My Kitchen Rules NZ, at our spectacular new location ‘The Farm Wanaka’, a boutique B&B/Events business owned by Tabatha Wilson - 196 Maxwell Road.
This day of art and music brings opportunity for artists to display their works and offer them a platform for sales and interaction with the Wanaka community. It is a fun day out for families and locals but sorry not for dogs. Any proceeds are going towards a TBC Cancer foundation via Rotary Wanaka.
