The Festival of Sport & Recreation’s Expo/Have-A-Go Day is this Saturday, 24 September, 10.00am - 1.00pm. This awesome fun event will be held indoors and out at the Wanaka Rec Centre, Sir Tim Wallis Drive. “We’re delighted to offer free entry to this community event, as it’s a real feel good, inclusive and energising occasion to see and experience what’s on offer locally,” said Festival Coordinator, Mylrea Bell. “We have activities for the big ones to the little ones, for the sport fiend to the less active, for the serious competitor to the gentle participant or spectator”. Try Hungerball, inflated junior obstacle courses, games and races, Dye Dash, or create games with play trailer equipment. Bounce on the trampoline, run the parkour gauntlet, tumble on mats. Check your aim with laser guns, basketball
hoop, or at softball. Try disc golf, the indoor rowing machine, learn or test your bike skills. Enjoy dance performances, demos from karate, disc golf, skateboarding, trampolining, cricket. Relax at the pop-up library, watch a snow film, test your speaking skills, try esports, sign up to a club/organisation, watch live artists, view action images, chill with refreshments at the mobile outlet. Check out the Celebrity Couch for sporting stars and hear messages from our heroes. Join the interactive wild ‘Goosechase’.
