DEAR WALLIS FRIENDS, We are delighted and honored by your presence at The Wallis tonight. We are grateful for the opportunity to celebrate with YOU, our closest friends and supporters. Since our inception, The Wallis has strived to be a civic cultural hub and vibrant community resource. We have shared exceptional arts experiences and educational resources, which reflect the broad spectrum of the human experience. The team at The Wallis could not fulfill our mission without your dedication and generosity, or that of the City of Beverly Hills. Tonight, we hope you will join us in recognizing and paying tribute to the astonishingly committed individuals who make up both our Beverly Hills City Council and our community. We also gather to revel in the incredible breadth of talent present this evening: from appearances by a multi-hyphenate mogul spinning beats and a recent Kennedy Center Honoree, to Grammy®-nominated musicians and celebrities on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. We know tonight’s festivities will be exceptionally fun and moving. This year’s outdoor version of our annual benefit will provide vital funding for the world-class arts programming and education experiences on which our Los Angeles Arts Community has come to rely for its happiness and well-being. DEAR FRIENDS, HONORED GUESTS, & STELLAR SUPPORTERS, Welcome back! It fills us with joy to see you here at the Wallis, in the heart of Beverly Hills. This year, our annual gala takes place under the stars and among them as we welcome celebrity guest DJ and Beverly Hills native Paris Hilton, allaround legend Debbie Allen, and a constellation of other stars including grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Sheléa, future stars from the John Buroughs High School POWERHOUSE Choir, and many others. We are also thrilled to be honoring one of the Wallis’ star supporters, and the best city in the galaxy, the City of Beverly Hills, represented by Mayor Bob Wunderlich, Vice Mayor Lili Bosse, and Council members John A. Mirisch, Julian Gold M.D., and Lester Friedman. As the inheritor of the original Beverly Hills post office, The Wallis is inexorably linked to the City; and we are so very proud to call Beverly Hills our home for great arts and culture. We are also deeply grateful for the enthusiastic support the City has always offered the Wallis, in particular over the last eighteen months, undoubtedly the most trying times in recent memory. As we step back on to the Wallis campus tonight, many of us for the first time in nearly two years, we are reminded that this is a very special space, dedicated to and in celebration of the power of the performing arts. Today, more than ever before, we feel immense gratitude to the donors who stepped up to keep the Wallis’s mission alive and make this dazzling evening possible. It has been our great pleasure to work with such stellar people. We hope you enjoy the show!

PARIS HILTON One of today’s most recognizable entrepreneurs and international influencers, Paris Hilton is a pioneer in reality television and an innovator in social media and celebrity branding. Since starring in “The Simple Life,” Hilton has built a global empire as an influencer, DJ, designer, recording artist, philanthropist, host, actress, model and New York Times best-selling author. In 2006, she created Paris Hilton Entertainment, a multibillion-dollar company consisting of 45 branded stores, 19 product lines and 27 fragrances, which have surpassed over $4 billion in revenue. In 2001, Variety declared Paris Hilton as a “Billion Dollar Entrepreneur” in recognition of her successful business and global brand. Hilton debuted “This Is Paris,” her critically acclaimed YouTube Originals documentary on her life, which has garnered nearly 20 million views to date. Hilton has used her voice and dedicated her platform and resources to supporting Breaking Code Silence, the organization created to affect change in the industry, and eradicate the abuse of children in systemically abusive institutions. Hilton recently partnered with iHeartRadio to launch her “This is Paris” podcast and will continue to expand podcast production through her company London Audio. As an investor, she is committed to supporting and investing in the next generation of entrepreneurs positively impacting the world at companies such as Daily Harvest, R3SET, Good Catch, Zen Water, Podz, among others. In addition, Hilton launched her

SHOSHANA BEAN Shoshana Bean’s three independent solo albums have all topped the iTunes R&B and Blues charts in the US and UK, with her fourth and most recent project, SPECTRUM, debuting at #1 on the Billboard Jazz charts. She has sold out solo concerts around the globe, lent her voice to countless films and television shows, amasses millions of views on YouTube, and performed alongside Ariana Grande, David Foster, Postmodern Jukebox, Brian McKnight, and Michael Jackson. Shoshana is a veteran of the Broadway stage having made her debut in the original cast of Hairspray, starring as the very first replacement for Elphaba in Wicked and most recently as Jenna in Waitress. JOHN BURROUGHS HIGH SCHOOL POWERHOUSE CHOIR Powerhouse is the elite level choir from John Burroughs High School in Burbank, CA. Singing both classical and contemporary genres this ensemble has performed in every corner of the United States winning numerous local and national grand championships. Under the direction of Brendan Jennings and Jen Oundjian, Powerhouse has appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show, Dancing with the Stars and The Voice as well as on stage at the Hollywood Bowl, the Grand Ole Opry and Lincoln Center. Powerhouse has also taken two international tours and has shared the stage with artists such as Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine, Seal, John Legend, Stevie Wonder, Darren Criss and the cast of Glee. SHELÉA Vocalist With widespread comparison to the vocal expertise of legendary Whitney Houston, and the piano prowess of Alicia Keys, it’s no surprise that artist and actress, Sheléa (pronounced shuh-layyuh), has garnered co-signs from the likes of Stevie Wonder, Mary J.Blige, Missy Elliott, David Foster, Queen Latifah, Jamie Foxx, Jennifer Hudson, Quincy Jones, and more. Blending traditional pop, jazz, R&B and soul, Sheléa brings a contemporary edge to classics, and a classic touch to contemporary pop standards. With years of making a name for herself as a vocal powerhouse, having performed twice at the White House; Library of Congress; Carnegie Hall; the Kennedy Center; and more, 2020 marked her acting debut as Dorinda Clark in The Clark Sisters: The First Ladies of
Gospel. The Lifetime biopic drew 2.7 million viewers and “was the strongest original movie for all television for 2020 across key demos including both broadcast and cable.” With the film as the top social trend across all television, Sheléa’s name was prominently found leading the charge. LUCY TUCKER YATES In 2020 Lucy Yates joined LA’s The Industry on keyboards for Sweet Land and was named a company member. She made her conducting debut in 2018 as maestro al cembalo at Seattle Opera with the “extremely inventive” O+E (Gluck/ Calzabigi 1762 Orfeo ed Euridice), in an “elegantly poetic” English version she created for that production. She made her Rossini Opera Festival debut in 2014 as assistant conductor and onstage continuo fortepianist in Mario Martone’s staging of Aureliano in Palmira. Miss Yates first drew international attention as Violetta in a 2002 Franco Zeffirelli/Plácido Domingo production of La traviata at Busseto, and as Monica in The Medium at Spoleto, under Menotti’s direction. She joined conductor Francesco Maria Colombo and the Orchestra Verdi di Milano for a program of Cole Porter. Critics called her Gilda “perfect,” her Beatrice di Tenda “dazzling,” and her Fiordiligi “deliciously feminine”. Other roles include Nedda, Rosina, and Anne Trulove. Through twenty years with Bel Canto at Caramoor—now Teatro Nuovo—with Will Crutchfield, Miss Yates has emerged as a cogent and lyrical translator and teacher of Italian poetry. An alumna of the Steans Institute at Ravinia and the Britten-Pears School, she was music director of ArtSong Nouveau from 2000-2005. She is a Lecturer at UCLA, guest lecturer at USC, clinician for dell’Arte Opera Ensemble, and writer for the Santa Fe Opera. She has served as dramaturg, titlist, and coach for the New York City Opera, and panelist on the Metropolitan Opera Radio Quiz.
CAMILLE ZAMORA In collaboration with artists ranging from Yo-Yo Ma to Sting, soprano Camille Zamora has garnered acclaim for her “dramatic and nuanced” (The New York Times) interpretations of repertoire ranging from Mozart to tango. She is known for her “dignity and glowing sound” (The New York Times) in “luminous, transcendently lyrical” performances (Opera News) that “combine gentility and emotional fire” (The Houston Chronicle). Hailed by NBC Latino and the Congressional Hispanic Caucus as a leading interpreter of classic Spanish song, Camille has performed on five continents and in live broadcasts on PBS, Deutsche Radio, BBC, and Sirius XM. Her recent album If the night grows dark / Si la noche se hace oscura: Four Centuries of Spanish Song debuted on Billboard‘s Top Ten Classical Chart. Other recent recordings include Pauline Viardot’s Le Dernier Sorcier, a #1 Classical Best Seller on Amazon and Opera News Critic’s Choice, and Hindemith’s The Long Christmas Dinner with American Symphony Orchestra, a New York Times Classical Playlist Choice and Opera News Recording of the Year. Her 2021 season has included live-streamed and inperson concerts spanning Baroque zarzuela to boleros to Bachianas Brasileiras with Cincinnati Symphony, Buffalo Philharmonic, Rochester Philharmonic, Virginia Symphony, Sonnambula Viol Consort, and more. An advocate for the arts in education, Camille is the CoFounder of Sing for Hope, an “arts peace corps” non-profit that creates initiatives – including the Sing for Hope Pianos in public spaces from the Bronx to
Beirut – that dismantle barriers and promote the mission of art for all. During the pandemic, Sing for Hope became one of the most significant employers of freelance professional musicians in the U.S. by producing 125 days of consecutive live musical programming at Javits Vaccination Center, reaching an estimated 270,000 community members. A leading voice in the Citizen Artist conversation, Camille has presented and performed at the United Nations, the U.S. Capitol, Aspen Institute, Harvard University, Oxford University, and the Skoll World Forum for Social Entrepreneurship. She has been honored with a Kennedy Center Citizen Artist Award and a 100 Hispanic Women Community Pride Award, and named one of the Top 50 Americans in Philanthropy by Town & Country, NY1’s New Yorker of the Week, and one of CNN’s Most Intriguing People.
