AN AFRICAN Marcus Mosiah Garvey must have his conviction for mail fraud overturned, his son has demanded. Dr Julius Garvey told The Voice he remains determined to clear his fathers’ name after the iconic leader was ‘framed’ by the American state in a bid to scupper the message of black unity. Marcus Garvey was imprisoned for two years before being deported to Jamaica, with his dream of black people returning to Africa unfulfilled.
