he San Javier International Air Festival got underway last Friday, running throughout the weekend in Santiago de la Ribera. More than 180,000 visitors packed into the relaxed coastal town, enjoying exhibitions, concerts, training sessions, aerial displays and ground activities, culminating on Sunday with the main air show over the calm waters of the Mar Menor. During Friday and Saturday morning, the public watched official training sessions, offering a preview of the weekend’s programme. On Saturday evening, one of the standout additions to this year’s edition took place: the “Sunset” display—an aerial performance at dusk that extended into the night. Festival director Pablo Gonzalez described it as “something very special, because it started in daylight and ended completely in the dark.”
